Baiocchi Griffin Private Wealth ‘House View’
“We believe that the global economic environment remains in a state of caution with
sovereign debt issues, high unemployment rates (excl. Australia) and sparse GDP growth
across developed nations continuing to weigh on sentiment across financial markets.
Although there are positive signs emerging from the United States and its economy, we
believe that the world will continue to experience an environment which is less conducive
to growth for some years to come.
From an investment perspective, we believe the Australian share market is fairly valued -
it is neither overpriced or cheap.
.
The current low interest rate environment looks set to continue for quite some time and
this suggests that investors - who have been heavily reliant on income from interest
bearing investments - need to cautiously re-weight their portfolios to include some
exposure to high quality companies (with strong, reliable, dividend records) along with
property and infrastructure securities.”
