imported to the US by Imperial Egyptian Stud . He went on to become the herd sire at

Count Zichy Tyssen’s Stud in Argentina. In 2001, he finally returned to the land of his an-

cestors, Egypt, to join his two sons Imperial Madori ( x Orianah) and Tallahsman ( x Bint

Attalah) but as fate would have it he met with an untimely death shortly thereafter.

A statuesque individual, Imperial Madheen, will be remembered as one of the most clas-

sic, refined and influential stallions the world has known. His get have established his

prepotency as a proven sire, capturing numerous championship titles on four continents

notably Paris World Junior Champion Stallion, Imperial Mashhar ( x Imperial Jannabah)

owned by the King of Morocco, Australian National Champion Stallion, Imperial Madaar

(x Ansata Nile Mist) ,owned by Simeon Stud , Egypt’s National Junior Champion Stallion

( Imperial Madori ( x Imperial Orianah) owned by Sakr Arabians Stud

Imperial Madheen’s sons have made and continue to leave their indelible mark on the SE

industry. Daughters and sons of Imperial Madori and Tallahsman as herd sires at Sakr

Arabians Stud have claimed three World Championships (Gelgelah Al Badia, Nabeela

Sakr & Adham Sakr) and close to 20 + Egyptian National and International champion-

ships between them. Tallahsman, the most renowned living son, is now herd sire at Al

Khaled Stud in Saudi Arabia.

Today the only way to include highly sought-after Madheen blood into breeding programs

is through his get. However, this exclusive once-in-a-lifetime breeding to Madheen

provides this unique opportunity to directly incorporate this valuable blood into

your breeding program.

THE PYRAMID SOCIETY BOARD OF

TRUSTEES HONORS THE ROGERS FAMILY

OF KEHILAN ARABIANS

Nearby the famed Trinity River in Fort Worth, Texas lies the charming farm of Kehilan

Arabians owned by the Rogers family. Inspired by a deep love of horses, and with

the devoted support of her husband Herb, Ida Jean Rogers and her daughters Nancy

Rogers Blankenship and Becky Rogers brought their farm into world prominence. Al-

most forty years have passed, and Kehilan remains firmly based on their shared vi-

sion of "a breathtakingly beautiful, classic and noble horse…that is your friend, your

inspiration, and one that delights the senses".

The development of the farm as a family endeavor required years of devo-

tion, passion and perseverance. Dedicated to the art of breeding, and based on line

Pictured above: Becky Rogers, Janice Bush, the late Jean Rogers, Herb Rogers & Nancy Blankenship of

Kehilan Arabians.

breeding to the revered stallion Sameh, the fourth and fifth generations of the

Rogers' planned program are consistently producing the magnificent Arabians

they envisioned as their goal. Becky is a skilled horsewoman and farm manag-

er, Nancy oversees the office while Herb, at 89, remains active in manage-

ment decisions. Aided in sales and client support since 1993 by their close

friend Janice Bush, Kehilan bloodstock is found in over 20 countries world-

wide.

The Rogers are lifetime members of The Pyramid Society, always giving gen-

erously of their time, talents, and financial support. Nancy began serving on

the board of directors in 1999, was later elected Vice President and chaired

the Egyptian Event through 2008. Becky was elected to the board in 2009, and

today serves as Vice President and Chair of both the Competition Committee

and the Public Relations Committee. Ida Jean Rogers, who crossed the Rain-

bow Bridge in 2011, would be proud of Kehilan's breeding, training and show-

ing accomplishments. Emma and her little sister Avery, Nancy's granddaugh-

ters, also love horses and Emma is already garnering national acclaim as a

rider.

Please join us as The Pyramid Society

Board of Trustees graciously presents their

2016 Award to the Rogers Family for their

leadership, generosity and dedication to the

Arabian horse community at large, and to

the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse as

defined by The Pyramid Society.

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY – THE DESTINATION

WITH SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

In addition to the Egyptian Event festivities, plan to come early or stay later and enjoy the city of Lexington, Kentucky. As stated in the February 2016 issue of American Airlines magazine featuring Lexington, 'a heritage of Blue-grass Country horses and bourbon lures many to Lexington, and it's easy to plan an itinerary that never detours from those popular features..... Street art, food culture and a craft-beer scene have exploded here, and while visi-tors can still honor the historic highlights, Lexington's passion for innovation leads the modern-day charge.' SOCIETY

NEWS

IN MEMORIAM

The Arabian Horse Community recently lost several

well-known and influential professionals who will be

missed by many. The Pyramid Society wishes their

loved ones peace and comfort during this time of loss.

REMEMBERING SIGI...

by Christie Metz

Knowing in my mind that this vibrant, colorful,

charismatic person is gone is difficult to grasp.

Truly though Sigi lives on in so many, many ways

that warms my heart and brings comfort. While

Sigi created the Om El breeding program which is

unarguably one of the best in the world for Arabi-

an horses, her true apex of breeding is her chil-

dren, Benni and Janina as well as her step

daughter Shannon whom she considered hers

too along with Bonnie. She would say this too

and did on many occasions. Sigi loved her horses

and breeding with an unswerving dedication, but

her children were for her, the most important. This love extended to their spouses

(Bryon and Kim), their families and anyone else she considered family and most

especially her grandchildren, Sophia and Luca. Sigi was a woman of gifted vision

in creating horses, and beautiful children with amazing souls. She had a passion

for life with the unwavering belief in reaching for her dreams.....always. (a cele-

bration of Sigi's life to be announced.)

ERWIN ESCHER - GONE BUT NOT

FORGOTTEN

From Judith Forbis

"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in

the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in

the wintertime. It is the little shadow

which runs across the grass and loses

itself in the sunset." (Crowfoot (1821-

1890) Last words.

It was the sunset of Erwin's life - but

who knew it? The man who always

wore a smile; who was everywhere with

his camera; whose images of beautiful horses delighted everyone far and

wide; whose farm was a haven to that which he loved - animals, and his be-

loved wife, Annette.

The Arabian horse world is grateful for the historical images Erwin has left

for us and generations to come. He is a testimony that life is to be lived lov-

ing what you do. Now he has moved beyond the sunset. We will miss him.

Rest in Peace, Erwin...

ERWIN ESCHER

IRINA FILSINGER

REMEMBERING IRINA FINSINGER

Although the Filsinger Family passionately bred

high quality Straight Egyptian horses for over 50

years, Irina was most well known for her exquisite

photos; some of the most captivating images in the

Arabian show industry. Her talent and dedication to

the breed were always evident in her work and she

will truly be missed.
