Dear Parent or Guardian:
The Half Hollow Hills Central School District is proud of our “Tradition of Excellence.” We continue to strive to provide the highest level of instruction to our students. All of this is possible because of the safe and secure learning environment that we provide throughout the district. Once again, our district is going to be proactive in the areas of health and safety. Please be advised that Regents examination grades may be nullified if a test administration is interrupted. In order to ensure a safe and uninterrupted testing environment, we have adopted the following procedures during the scheduled examination period – June 11 through June 23, 2010.
▪ Students are to report to school ONLY when they have a scheduled examination or an instructional session.
▪ A normal regular day transportation schedule will be followed; however, additional arrivals and departures have been added. Please refer to the attached Exam Bus Schedule for details.
▪ The School Finals/Regents Exam schedules are attached.
▪ SECURITY measures will be implemented FRIDAY, June 11 through WEDNESDAY, June 23, 2010. There will be LIMITED and RESTRICTED access to and from High School West from Friday, June 11 through Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Students may enter and exit the building ONLY through the Main Entrance.
• Tuesday, June 8 is (Locker Clean Out Day) hallway lockers MUST be emptied. Thursday, June 10 starting at 2:30 all the hallway lockers will be inspected and then sealed; students will no longer have access to their lockers.
• Wednesday, June 9 physical education lockers MUST be emptied. Thursday, June 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. all the physical education lockers will be inspected and then sealed; students will no longer have access to the P.E. lockers.
▪ Backpacks, briefcases, large handbags, gym bags, musical instruments and all such items WILL NOT BE PERMITTED on school grounds from Friday, June 11 through Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
The safety and welfare of our students and staff are paramount, and the validity and integrity of both district-wide and New York State Regents examinations must be safeguarded. Therefore, your continued support is both critical and appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Main Office.
