READING COMPREHENSION

The truth about guysMany people think guys don't really care

about their appearance. But a lot of guys spend

plenty of time in front of the mirror. It's a fact - some

guys care just as much as girls do about their

appearance.

Guys normally don't like to talk to friends and

relatives about their bodies and how they'redeveloping. Boys may develop a negative self-image

if they haven't had the support of their friends and

family.

Why is body image important?

Body image is part of someone's total self-image. So how a guy feels about his body can

affect how he feels about himself. The same thing can happen to girls, too.

But body image isn't the most important thing.

Ian became worried about the way he looked. He was too thin and he wanted bigger muscles.

He trained for a while and got a better body. But that didn't make him a more interesting

person. He often became annoyed easily and he only cared about his new muscles. Peoplethought he was very boring. Like Ian, many young people have forgotten to take care of other

aspects like their personality!

Paul David Hewson (born 10 May 1960), known as Bono, is the lead singerandprincipal lyricist of the Irish rock band U2. Bono was born and raised in Dublin,Ireland, and attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School where he met hiswife, Ali Hewson, and the future members of U2. Since that time he has beenreferred to as Bono, his stage and nickname, by his family and fellow bandmembers. Almost all U2 lyrics are written by Bono and he often writes usingpolitical, social and religious themes. During their early years, Bono's lyrics partlycontributed to U2's rebellious tone. Later the lyrics became more personalinspired by experiences of members of U2.

Bono has taken part in several other endeavors outside of U2 and hascollaborated and recorded with numerous artists. He has also participated in

different business ventures. Bono sits on the board of Elevation Partners andowns a hotel with fellow band member, The Edge.
