The 60/40split-folding Multi-Flex rear seat and the front-passenger seat both fold forward, allowing you to carry objects up to 2.7 m (9 ft.) long in the security of the interior. With the rearseatbacks folded, Torrent can handle up to 1943 L (68.6 cu. ft.)of cargo. Need even more? Properly equipped, Torrent is rated to tow up to 1588 kg (3500 lb.). Torrent’s standard flat-folding rear and front-passenger seatbacks make it a breeze to reconfigure theinterior for almost any combination of passengers and cargo. The hard back of the flat-folding front-passenger seat can also double as a work table – a handy feature when your office is far away.

Torrent’s available active-on-demand all-wheel-drive (AWD) systemis fully integrated with the vehicle’s anti-lock braking, traction controland StabiliTrak systems. Any time it detects a loss of grip at the frontwheels, it automatically sends engine torque to the rear wheels. It also redistributes power to all 4 wheels as necessary to helpachieve optimal traction under hard acceleration.

In a segment dominated by standard four-cylinder powerplants, Torrent and Torrent GT put outstanding performance at your command. The standard powertrainincludes an efficient five-speed automatic transmission and a smooth 3.4-litre V6 that generates 185 horsepower and 210 pounds-feet of torque. Then there’s Torrent GXP, which turns theperformance all the way up. It features a standard 263-horsepower DOHC V6 paired with anadvanced six-speed automatic transmission with the added excitement of tap-up/tap-downshifting. Of course, abundant power is only part of the package. We also made sure that everyTorrent has what it takes to keep you on the move even when the weather has other drivers stuckindoors.
