Integrate Activity into Your Everyday LifeVigorous exercise is important. However, if your hectic schedule

leaves you with no time to hit the gym, you can try integratingsome activity in the course of the day for increasing yourproductivity and staying fit. Take a walk when you are conversing on the phone. Instead of the lift, take the stairs. Take short breaks and step away from workstation. Workouts at home, such as sit-ups, push-ups, crunches,

lunges and squats, keep you in shape.Eat Healthy and On Time

Foods which are low in nutritional value and have too manycalories can pose serious health problems, including weight gain, cardiovascular problems and diabetes. It is important to stick toa healthy diet and a strict routine. Instead of starchy foods, choose wholegrain variants which

contain more fibre, and keep you feeling full. Feel like snacking in the middle of the day? Stock up on nuts

and seeds or citrus fruits that are known to cure fatigue andstimulate alertness. To keep your energy up and your metabolism on overdrive, eat

breakfast and smaller meals throughout the day, rather than 3big meals. Have sufficient liquids through the day to avoid dehydration. Avoid processed or packaged foods that contain too much sugar. Excess sugar has been linked to energy spikes followed by a

crash, while too much salt can lead to high blood pressure andan increased risk of strokes and heart disease.

Sleep is Important Finding it difficult to get a good night’s sleep? Sleep deprivation

can lead to fatigue, confusion, memory lapses and irritability. To get a restful sleep: Create a sleep schedule and stick to it. Reading a book,

listening to relaxing music, or taking a warm shower can help inrelaxing your body. Avoid watching TV or surfing on your mobile as this can interfere

with your sleep. Pay attention to what you eat and drink. Going to bed hungry

or stuffing yourself too much can cause discomfort and keepyou awake.

Focus on Deep BreathingWhen you are trying to juggle multiple things at a time, you are

bound to be stressed.Five to ten minutes of deep breathing can help in relaxing you

and reducing anxiety. You can also close your eyes and focus on relaxing and tensing

each muscle group while taking deep, slow breaths. The bestpart about this is that you can do it any time, at home, workplaceor even on the road.

New Delhi, February 10 (PIB):The Ministry of Health andFamily Welfare (MoHFW)conducted the tenth round ofNational Deworming Day (NDD),today. This will be followed by themop-up day on February 17, 2020.

As part of this campaign, children and adolescents aged 1-19 years are being administeredAlbendazole (400 mg) acrossgovernment, government-aidedschools, anganwadis, privateschools and other educationalinstitutions.

The NDD is implementedwith an objective to reduce theprevalence of Soil TransmittedHelminths (STH), commonly calledthe parasitic intestinal worms, among all children andadolescents. Infections with themain STH – roundworm, whipwormand hookworms – contribute to50.1 lakh disability adjusted life-years (DALYs) worldwide (WHO,2010). One DALY can be thoughtof as one lost "healthy" year froma life. In India, over 22 crore childrenunder 14 years are at risk of STHinfections (WHO, 2017). Launchedin 2015, the NDD is the largestpublic health programmeimplemented on a single dayreaching crores of children andadolescents through two NDDrounds every year.

This year today, 19 statestook up activities to reach 9.35crore of the target population.NDD will be observed in 34 States/UTs over the next weeks and is

expected to reach an estimated 30crore of the target population.

Implemented incollaboration with the Ministry ofWomen and Child Developmentand Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment, NDD is a keyintervention of Anemia MuktBharat. Its success and impact liein convergence with the SwachhBharat Mission. NDD presentsopportunities to further policydialogue on health and nutritionas a way of supplementing effortsunder POSHAN Abhiyaan.

In preparation for the NDDround today, Anganwadi workersand teachers are trained oncommunity mobilization andadministration of dewormingtablet. ASHAs, PRI members andyouth volunteers engage in theprogram for communitymobilization and awareness aboutthe programme.

Deworming throughAlbendazole is an evidence-based, globally-accepted, effectivesolution used to control worminfections in all children. However,it can have minor side effects andsome children, especially thosewith high worm infections, mightexperience nausea, mild abdominalpain, vomiting, diarrhea, andfatigue.

Comprehensive adverseevent protocols are in place by theMinistry of Health and FamilyWelfare to safeguard from theseoccurrences.
