2 NursingInformaticsNURS-1610-442 Thiscoursewillintroducethestudentsintoemergingfieldofhealthinformaticsandexplorethemoderntoolsandtechnologiesappliedinthenursingfield.Integratingvarioustheories,studentscometounderstandtheimportanceofbecomingknowledgeableworkersanddevelopskillsforinformationliteracy.Itprovidesstudentswiththebasiccomputerinformaticsskills,todeliverevidence-basednursingcare.Studentsmustbeabletomanagethespecifictechnologiesusedinthehealthcaresetting.Developmentsincomputertechnologiesarediscussedinthecontextoftelehealth,e-health,distanceeducationandresearch.Associatedhuman-computerinteractionandlegalandethicalissuesareaddressed.Studentslearnhownursescanassess,developandusenursinginformationsystemstoworkmoreefficiently,allocateresourcesmoreeffectivelyandimproveclientcare.
