I want to make sure all of you look at our calendar coming up. We have events that give you a perfect opportunity to invite a friend to church. The event would give them a great chance to meet people and get a feel for our church. Other events require a more hands on approach. Take a look and see where your family can participate. We have a booth at King Fest serving food and drinks on Oct. 5, 10 am - 4pm. We will need volunteers to serve “Taco in a Bag” and drinks in 1 hour shifts. If you can help serve please sign up in the foyer. If you can help prepare food, set up or tear down sign up in the foyer. This is an easy event to do and we will see a lot of people to invite to church that day. 4 to 5 thousand come to this event so come prepared to enjoy King Fest and share with others about Jesus and our Church. All the Money Raised will go to King Outreach Ministries. Once again we are participating in the County Wide Mission Blitz Oct. 10 – 13. Opening service is at First Baptist on Thursday Night Oct. 10. Works days are set for Oct. 11 & 12. The closing service is a Crock Pot, Pot Luck here at First Christian for the workers at 6pm and a closing service at 7pm. If you love working with your hands and giving back to people who really need it, this is a weekend not to miss. We have some jobs for all ages usually. Our Ice Cream Social, Teen Beach Retreat and the Children’s Ministry Drive-In are during September along with the Chicken Stew/Trunk or Treat on October will be great events for your family to enjoy and bring a friend as stated before. We have the greatest savior in the world and the greatest message in the world. The God we serve sent his son to die for the worlds sins that, “whosoever would believe in Him shall be saved.” Let’s continue to reach out and touch our commu-nity. Love in Christ,
Glenn
Luke’s Letter to the Flock
Well here we are at the end of August, the busy
busy summer months are starting to fade away, but wait
school is starting. Yes school is in for our Students of all
ages. That means as family, friends in Christ, and leaders of
the church we need to all be praying for them! This is a
time in the year when it seems hard to get back into the
swing of things. So be encouraging and uplifting to our Stu-
dents and remind them that they are in your prayers and that
you are thinking about them!
With school that means FALL is approaching fast
and boy am I excited about FALL. I didn’t go to Boone for
school for just any reason, I love the changes in the trees,
the cool air, the crisp sunrises, football, and of course
Chicken Stew!
We have some awesome events coming up and I
really hope that you will do all you can to get your students
involved in them! One thing we do not want to do at the
start of a new school year is push God away! We need to
draw closer to him more than ever before! Also Sunday
school is very important for your Students! Please do all
you can to have them there on Sunday morning @ 9:30 to
dig into the word and learn how to be a Disciple of Christ!

CHILDREN’S Corner Wow what a summer, what a blessing!!! I just want to take a moment to thank you all, our kids and parents for your participation this summer. Also a spe-
cial thank you to all of you who volunteered with us this summer!! This has truly been one of my favorite summers ever. However the blessings are not behind us,
there are many ahead this fall and further!! Beginning with Sunday School, which is a great place for your kids to start their closer walk with Jesus. Families please mark your calendar's for these up coming events.... Kids Fusion on Sunday night September 22nd here at FCC starting at 6pm in the Gym for K-5th grades. September 25th is known worldwide as “See You At The Pole.” This is a
day where all school children are challenged to gather before school at a central location, the flag pole, and pray for their schools . Our “Drive-In” is on Saturday, September 28th from 10:30am to 12pm (Lunch is provided) for ages pre-school through 2nd grades (3rd-5th grades can help with this event). One of our church’s favorite events, “Trunk or Treat”, happens on Sun-day October 27th along with our church chicken stew. Anyone not able to decorate
their car but would like to help please donate candy for the kids.
Also to be announced is our own Children’s ministry chicken stew at the Hill’s house. This is a very fun time for our kids and their families to get together for food, fun and fellowship. 2014 Event—4th-7th graders need to mark their calendars and make plans to attend the Great Wolf Lodge Trip on Jan. 11th-12th. The total cost will be $100.00, deposit of $50.00 due on October 27th. Remaining due January 5th.

Campus Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational ministry
serving on the campuses of:
Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, North Carolina
State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the
University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
Today 9 out of every 10 students who enter college believing in
Jesus, walk away from Him by their sophomore year.
Campus Christian Fellowship’s mission is to make disciples on the
college campus who impact the world. No longer is CCF merely a safe-
house for Christian students, but now they equip students to be
ministers of the Gospel on campus and for the rest of their lives.
Please pray for these campus ministries as well as college
students throughout the world that they will not walk away from Jesus.
