If you’ve recently deleted a file, image, video or other data from Windows by accident, then it may still be recoverable. Using a
top ranked freeware program that is not only effective but simple to use, you may be able to restore any deleted files.
The above screenshot notes that I’ve moved a folder that should not be deleted to the recycling bin. The folder is a test/demo
folder that will be used for this tutorial, titled Don’t Delete This! The folder also contains an image file, the HelpDeskGeek
logo.
Now, I’ll proceed to delete the folder permanently, using the Empty the Recycle Bin option. The folder, along with contents, is
now erased from Windows.
At this point, our objective is to recover the contents of the deleted Do Not Delete This! folder. So, let’s get started. Jump to
the Download.com Pandora Recovery freeware page (http://download.cnet.com/Pandora-Recovery/3000-2094_4-
10694796.html?tag=dropDownForm;productListing;pop) and proceed to download the program to your computer.
Once downloaded, proceed to install the program as you would any other app.

Like many other freeware programs that you download, the installer is bundled with 3rd party apps and partnered apps.
Thus, you will likely want to uncheck the Ask.com options that are bundled with the installer.
Upon successful installation, launch the Pandora Recovery program by navigating the path Start > All Programs >
Pandora Recovery > Launch Pandora Recovery.
Once the Pandora Recovery Program is open and active on screen, select the computer’s hard drive, which will usually be
labeled as Local Disk (C:). From here, the app will present you with the paths and directories to recently deleted and
recoverable files.
Browse through these directories and locate the files that you want to recover. If you’re unable to locate the specific file, don’t
give up yet…select the Surface Scan option which will perform a more comprehensive scan of the hard drive.
Once the Surface Scan completes, you will be presented with a list of files that the program was able to find. However, note
that these files do not have the preserved original file name, but rather, are renamed according to their file type.
From here, there’s a bit of manual work involved because as mentioned above, the deleted files have all been renamed. Scroll
through the list of recoverable files and locate the file that you want to restore. Also note the preview window, which can help
you find the file.
Here, I’ve located the HelpDeskGeek image file that we deleted at the beginning of this tutorial. It has been renamed as
Internet Graphics (292676).png
Finally, right-click the item that you want to recover and select the Recover to… option from the context menu.
From here, you will be prompted to select a destination to move the recovered file to. Click the Browse button to select a
destination and click the Recover Now option to recover the file.
The program will present you with a confirmation and you will have recovered the accidentally deleted files, which are now
located at the destination selected in the above step.

That’s basically all there is to it. Now, if you’ve recently deleted a file and need to recover it, you can use this freeware and
