I am MYRTE and not very surprisingly my name is Myrte. When I drew a little kingfisher in 2008 I couldn’t stop drawing birds. From when I was a child I have had a deep love for animals and after travelling to other coun-tries - looking for bears, squirrels and hamsters in the wild- I realised that wildlife in The Netherlands is right in our own backyard. And the wildlife we have here is beautiful too. A bird world opened up for me. I had been a fashion designer for 10 years and this new passion came right on time. For MYRTE I can unite all my great loves: textiles and nature, together with design and interior.

Where ever I am I look for nature. I have lunch with the blackbird and I hear the jackdaws discuss heavy topics on my roof. I draw them like any other il-lustrator, but pencil and paper are replaced by a digital tablet and stylus. On my screen I colour the bird, feather by feather. I use many colours and one bird consists of thousands of strokes. It can take up to two weeks to finish a drawing. I am grateful that I can share my love for nature with others that are touched by it. It is my ode to nature. I only draw the subjects I meet. I dive into their world and write a little story about them, whether it´s a bird or a flower.

I do my best to design products that don´t harm the environment. The use of organic fabric for my luxury pillows is an example of that.With new prod-ucts, that is always what is on my mind; designing something that is as close to my beliefs as possible.

In this catalogue you´ll find all my items that I have created with love for nature. I hope you’ll enjoy.

All illustrations are hand drawn. The drawing of the Dunnocks below is the result of more than 18.000 penstrokes. A glimpse of the drawing process can be seen on the right.

Alle illustraties zijn met de hand getekend. De tekening van de Heggemusjes hieronder is het resultaat van meer dan 18.000 penseelstreken. Rechts zie je hoe deze tot stand is gekomen.

Wall paperNew in our collection are our wallpapers. Full colour digitally printed on good quality paper that can be pasted directly to the wall. Standard rolls are 50cm in width and 9 meters in length. Special sizes are possible to order as we are printing the rolls per order. We are expanding our collection of papers with our birds and flowers constantly.Digital printing is the most environmentally friendly way to print. The pa-pers are biodegradable and washable. The wallpaper is a strippable paper and therefore easy to remove.

Nieuw in de collectie is ons ehang. Het wordt full colour digitaal geprint op goede kwaliteit vliesbehang dat direct op de muur geplakt kan worden. Standaard zijn de rollen 50cm breed en 9 meter lang. Speciale afmetingen zijn mogelijk omdat het behang per order geprint wordt. We breiden de col-lectie behang met vogeltjes en bloemetjes constant uit. Digitaal printen is de meest milieuvriendelijke maneir van printen. Het behand is biologisch afbreekbaar en wasbaar. Je kunt het behang makkelijk verwijderen.

FabricsFabrics are close to Myrte’s heart. We have developed a collection of five qualities to meet the needs of decorators, designers and lovers of unique fabrics. There are two certified organic cotton qualities; 300grams and 135grams, a lightweight cotton voile, and two silks; a heavy weight shiny silk and the beautiful traditional habutai silk. All fabrics are printed in The Neth-erlands. More information will follow soon.

Stoffen zijn een grote liefde van Myrte. We hebben een collectie ontwik-keld van vijf kwaliteiten voor decorateurs, ontwerpers en liefhebbers van unieke stoffen. Er zullen twee biologische katoenen zijn; in 300grams en in 135grams, een lichte cotton voile, en twee zijdes; een zware hoogglans en de prachtige traditionele habutai zijde. The second collection entails wonderful soft and bright colours found in the world of botanica.
