Where we are coming from

Within DHL Freight we had some different

T&T systems on regional and country level.

To reduce complexity the goal was to have

one T&T system for DHL Freight.

Started 2009 with scoping and analyzing the

T&T landscape we switched off the major

T&T for the EUROCONNECT product in

2010.

Within 2011 we continued with the domestic

T&T systems included also the TMS for

temperature monitored shipments.

AcT was started as Reduction of complexity initiative

Why mobile?

To have ACTIVETRACING on a mobile device we developed with IKS a

concept and got the approval from our Senior Management.

The main focus was to concentrate on the key facts and make them

smoothly to use for our customers.

Some figures:

usage average during the last six months: ~ 70.000 per month, with maximum 95.300

~ 99% usage is from unregistered customers (public access including Smartphones)

~ 25% usage coming from our Smartphone Apps (mainly iOS devices)

DHL AcT mobile app is live since June 2011 without any issues

Positive feedback from the customers

Some complaint from customer which used the Freight app to track

shipments from other DHL BUs

Downloads by OS:

iOS: ~ 32.000 downloads

Android: ~ 9.300 downloads

BlackBerry: ~ 4.200 download

For iOS the average is still

200 downloads per day!

Outlook Mobile App 2.0

With the first release of the App for Android and iPhone devices we are ahead

of our competitors, but we will continue to become a easy to use and

supportive mobile application.

Outlook Mobile solutions within DHL Freight

To become a leading logistic company with mobile apps focus we decided to

go for a mobile app portal to combine more functionality in one mobile app as a

goal for the DHL Freight customers.

On the consignment details list the user is

also be able to add/remove the shipment

to/from the favorites.

There is also a possibility to send the

shipment via email as a direct link to an other

user/customer.

If the user uses the scan function he need

just to move the camera to the DHL Freight

label and then the function will scan

automatically and fill the information directly

to the search field.

from the favorites list. For each item in the

favorites list it is also possible to add an alias

to the entry to give the user the possibility to

give the shipment a more telling name as the

Order code.
