miart is a fair conceived as a curated and eclectic platform, focused on creating dialogues between contemporary artistic positions, Post-War Masters, emerging talents and collectable design.

The careful selection of international galleries ensures that miart is the Italian fair that presents to the public the widest chronology of works, ranging from early 20th century art through to the creations of the most recent generations, fostering a continuous dialogue between past and present creativity.

Seven different sections, a rich program of awards, an ambitious series of talks, and exclusive VIP events bring to Milan every Spring an international audience of collectors, curators, museum directors, artists, designers, art lovers and journalists.

The 24th edition of miart will once again be the catalyst of the Milan Art Week, a weeklong series of openings, events and performances, involving the major public and private institutions in town, its foundations and commercial galleries, non-profit and artist-run spaces—all entities that make Milan a vibrant cultural destination.

what they say about us – galleries

“miart is confirming its capacity for expan-sion with a significant international pres-ence that gives the fair great dynamism. I’m very happy with the results we’ve achieved, this is certainly due to the effort made by the galleries and a high-level audience has been the reward.”Alfonso Artiaco, Galleria Alfonso Artiaco, Naples (Established Contemporary section)

“miart is the new platform for contempo-rary and modern art in Italy. It’s the perfect mix of curatory expertise and commercial strength.”Simone Battisti, Gladstone Gallery, New York – Brussels (Established Contemporarysection)

“Milan has been experiencing a new Re-naissance in recent years. It has become more attractive to Italians and the interna-tional community, and as a result is becom-ing increasingly cosmopolitan. Miart takes place during a vibrant time for culture in the city, before Il Salone del Mobile, which has for many years attracted visitors from around the world, and it has been a crucial moment for the city’s art and design scene. We work with a few active Italian collectors and for us Miart is the perfect platform to extend our network further. ”Almine Rech, Almine Rech Gallery, Paris – Brussels – London – New York (Estab-lished Contemporary section)

“We’ve taken part in miart for the second time. This edition proves the strength that the fair has acquired in recent years as the leading fair in Italy covering the Italian market of modern and contemporary art. Together with many interesting and high quality exhibitions Milan offers during miart, one feels a desire not to miss this week in the future.”Victor Gisler, MAI 36, Zurich (Established Contemporary section)

“This is the first time we’ve exhibited at miart and we’ll definitely be back next year! The quality of the art fair and the visitors attending reflects the international and highly dynamic character of the city itself and offers great potential as far as visibility and sales is concerned."Yuli Karatsiki, Kalfayan Galleries, Athens – Thessaloniki (Established Contemporarysection)

“miart has become once and for all an inter-national fair. The journey begun some years ago has turned out to be a winning choice: we’ve had visits from the great Italian and European collectors and also from overseas museum directors. It’s been a great suc-cess!”Marco Voena, Robilant + Voena, Milan – London – St. Moritz (Established Masterssection)

“With all due respect to the other interna-tional destinations I prefer being in Milan; it’s a modern city, efficient and enjoyable, enlivened by a very varied network of muse-ums and an excellent welcome. The fair is wonderful and it’s already the leading one in Italy.”Gian Enzo Sperone, Gian Enzo Sperone, Sent – New York (Established Masters andDecades section)

“This edition of miart has been an excellent chance to convey the spirit of the gallery. We’ve met an attentive and inquisitive audi-ence and we’re happy to have forged new relationships.”Elsa Ravazzolo Botner, A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro (Generations section)

“I’m very happy with this edition of miart. The whole team has done a great job. Sales have been excellent and I’ve met some new foreign collectors.”Ilaria Leoni, Ermes-Ermes, Vienna (Emer-gent section)

“2018 has been our debut at miart and we’ve had a very good experience being here. Thecuration of our section Object has made it one of the most interesting within the con-text of collectible design. The fair has its different sections under the same roof, which is obviously a very strong model for a fair.”Martin Arno M. Feldt, Galleri Feldt, Copen-hagen (Object section)
