Presentation Notes
Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 116,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. Lockheed Martin is led by Marillyn A. Hewson, Chief Executive Officer and President. CUSTOMER BASE: As a global security, aerospace, and information technology company, the majority of Lockheed Martin's business is with the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. federal government agencies. In fact, Lockheed Martin is the largest provider of IT services, systems integration, and training to the U.S. Government. The remaining portion of Lockheed Martin's business is comprised of international government and some commercial sales of our products, services and platforms. 17% were from international customers (including foreign military sales (FMS) contracted through the U.S. Government). As a company, we have a strategy to grow international sales over the next several years, inclusive of sales of F-35 aircraft to our international partners and other countries. International sales are subject to numerous political and economic factors, regulatory requirements, significant competition, and other risks associated with doing business in foreign countries. Our exposures to such risks may increase if our international sales grow as we anticipate. In 2012, approximately half of our sales to international customers were FMS while the other half were DCS.

“I cannot over state the importance of this alternate method for accomplishing compliance training … Often, it is not just difficult, but impossible to hit and interact with the LM websites. Furthermore, the work that our employees is mentally draining due to the intensity of the work and the very long days (12+ hours daily). This prototype answers the dual needs of accomplishing the compliance training and making it not just convenient, but doable for our deployed employees. This effort is a tremendous positive and shows appreciation for the difficult position our deployed employees are in. Thank you.”

Testimonials for the BCCT Booklet “We wouldn’t have been able to get our deployed folks updated on compliance training otherwise, due to network restrictions at their locations.  I actually had my Afghanistan folks finished before I was able to get my stateside personnel completed.  Kudos to whomever was involved with this initiative.” --Eric Reeves, PMP, Senior Manager/Quality Assurance Manager, INSCOM Intelligence Training & Readiness Support Services, Lockheed Martin IS&GS – Defense “I heartily endorse this approach. First, the format: I think that the format, the design, and the size are well thought out. I particularly like the duplication of the record of accomplishment, one retained by the employee and one to be returned for credit. I think that the material is succinct, yet in depth enough to convey the importance of the training.\ Second, as a manager of deployed employees, I cannot over state the importance of this alternate method for accomplishing compliance training. This is my second program on which I have been a senior leader with deployed employees. On both programs, we were/are deploying people into a war zone. In other words, we are sending people to austere locations with limited bandwidth. Often, it is not just difficult, but impossible to hit and interact with the LM websites. Thank you.” --Marco Pizer, Acting Program Manager, C-IED, IS&GS-Defense
