High ‘A’ Responses

This indicates a VISUAL learnerA strong preference would be shown by score of 30 or more for ‘A’.The average is 12-18.

A ‘strong’ preference means you will tend to find it easier to take in new information if it is presented to you through diagrams, pictures, charts and films.

You will probably find it easier ti learn if you make pictures from new information i.e. to try and sketch something your for yourself, draw a plan or diagram in order to help you understand. You will also benefit from using visualisation in picture what you are learning as mental images.

VISUAL learners like drawing diagrams, pictures and charts and watching films.

High ‘B’ Response

This indicates a VISUAL/VERBAL learnerA strong preference would be shown by score of 16 or more for ‘B’.The average is 9-12.

A ‘strong’ preference means you will tend to find it easier to take in new information if it is presented to you through the written word, books, instruction leaflets and posters with clear slogans.

You will probably find it easier ti learn if you have accompanying written handouts during lectures or written instructions to support diagrams and explanations. Clearly drawn and labelled graphics are useful to you.

VISUAL/VERBAL learners like to read the written word. They like books, posters with slogans, instruction material with clearly written text.

High ‘C’ Responses

This indicates an AUDITORY learnerA strong preference would be shown by score of 16 or more for ‘C’.The average is 9-12.

A ‘strong’ preference means you will tend to find it easier to take in new information through listening to the spoken word..

You will probably find it easier ti learn if you hear an explanation, rather than see diagrams or plans. When reading information, you could read important passages softly to your self so you hear the words. Making a tape of something you want to learn, and then playing back to review the material would be effective for you. So would explaining the subject to someone else. The sound of your own voice makes it memorable.

AUDITORY learners like to hear new information through spoken explanations, commentaries and tapes.

Strong ‘D’ Responses

This indicates a PHYSICAL learnerA strong preference would be shown by score of 18 or more for ‘D’.The average is 8-12.

A ‘strong’ preference means you will tend to find it easier to take in new information if you are able to act physically. Writing or drawing to record the information as you hear it or read it will probably help.

Copy a demonstration immediately on seeing it, or act out or walk through a series of instructions. Underling or highlighting written material helps learning. You’ll find it easier to learn through demonstrations, which you can copy, rather than through books or explanations.

PHYSTICAL learners like hands-on learning which they can immediately try things for themselves. They like to DO as they learn e.g. writing, underlining, doodling, and imagining.
