INFORMATION FOR JULY & AUGUSTRev. Mark is away Friday, July 11 to Thursday, July 18; July 25 to August 7 and August 11 to 24. The Rev. Rob Congram is available for emergency pastoral care for July 11 to 18. During the summer, Mark will be leading worship July 20, August 10 and 31. The Rev. Dr. Bryan Lapier leads worship 27; the Rev. John Henderson on August 3 and 17; and the Rev. Mervyn Tubb on August 24.
HOST FAMLILES NEEDEDThe Avon Maitland District School Board is in need of host-families for International students for September 2014. We are welcoming students from Spain and Brazil as well as other international countries. For the community of St. Marys, we are hoping to place ten students into host families. KINTAIL ON THE ROADWhat a wonderful week at “Kintail on the Road” held this past week here at Knox. There were approximately 40 campers who enjoyed the activities with a very enthusiastic team of leaders!
Thanks to those of you who contributed the yummy snacks, helped with organizing the week or spent your time in the banquet hall/kitchen.
Knox is happy to have had such a successful camp again this year!
SHARING GIFTS IN CHINAThe Amity Summer English Program invites volunteers from around the world to provide English training and demonstrate teaching methodology to Chinese English teachers. Volunteers provide a three-week English training course to teachers from primary and middle schools in rural and remote areas. Past participant Anne Saunders shares, “The program is about people coming together for conversations. The experiences of relationship-building and intercultural exchange provide opportunities for “love made manifest” and glimpses of God in our midst today.” This year, Presbyterians Sharing will support a team of four from Knox church in Waterloo as they share their gifts and strengthen the PCC’s partnership with the Amity Foundation.

Something to Chuckle AboutOne day God was looking down at earth and saw all of the rascally retirees' behaviour that was going on.......So He called His angels and sent one to earth for a time. When the angel returned, he told God, 'Yes, it is bad on earth; 95% of retirees are misbehaving and only 5% are not.’ God thought for a moment and said, 'Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion.' So God called another angel and sent her to earth for a time. When the angel returned, she went to God and said, 'Yes, it's true. The earth is in decline; 95% of retirees are misbehaving, but 5% are being good...' God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% who were good, because he wanted to encourage them, and give them a little something to help them keep going. Do you know what the e-mail said?
Okay, I was just wondering, because I didn't get one either.
