The autonomous territorial unit of Gagauzia is located in thesouthern part of the Republic of Moldova, it borders theOdessa region of Ukraine in the East and the Moldovanregions of Leova, Cantemir and Cahul in the West. By car, thejourney from Comrat, the capital of Gagauzia to Chisinau, thecapital of the Republic of Moldova, takes 1.5 hours.
