Page 1: Katy perry stacey

This is a scene from Katy Perry- thinking of you. This medium long shot has inspired what the dressing room scene before the performance of the Laurenettes, how it might be set out in a similar scenery however they will be singing into the mirror etc. as well as doing their makeup.

This is a insert/close up shot of her holding a black and white picture of her ex boyfriend which is a similar scene we will be using for the launderette scene when the main laurenette will be remembering the times they used to have.

Katy Perry uses an excellent example as she also uses a flash back of a picnic, I chose this video because it most like our own video we are construction. The main laurenette will be having a picnic with her “boyfriend” for like 30s before returning back to the present day.

Katy Perry's song thinking of you is narrative based which uses Goodwin's theory. Katy Perry's motif is to sing a lot of pops songs in bright sparkly outfits as she is a pop singer however in this close up which is voyeurism as we break the trend of her motif to be all sexy however in this shot she is sad singing about a past lover that she has to live on with out.

There is a relationship with the visuals and the lyrics because it’s a narrative about how she is staying with another man “cos when I’m with him I am thinking of you” cuts from a scene with this new man to a flashback of her and her past lover and a close up of a picture of him.

This is many various shots of notion of look – voyeurism. This gives an effect as she is watching her past relationship because she is thinking of her memories which she wants to hold onto. The shots use focus to show what she is looking at and what the audience can see is important.

Katy's costume here is a similar resemblance to what our laurenettes will wear in the various locations as in the 60s people had very retro outfits that many hipsters idolizes over in this generation.

This part of the video the pace of the music increases as it contrasts the two different lifestyles, where he is in war getting shot down and she is pushing her new lover onto the bed which increases the effect of how she’s going behind his back and his dying alone.
