Learning to track your menstrual cycles are important if you are looking to conceive. You can

use your knowledge of your cycle to figure out when the best time to try for a baby might be.

Knowing your cycle can also help you to determine when you conceived once your

pregnancy is confirmed.

Take care of your teeth, and be sure to schedule a dental exam while you are pregnant.

There is an increased risk of dental problems, such as gingivitis, while you are pregnant.

Floss every day and brush twice a day to ensure that your teeth stay healthy and strong. If

you have any concerns, see your dentist immediately.

Sign up for a pregnancy class when you first find out you are expecting. These classes are

designed to answer many of the questions that first time moms have. Use this opportunity to

ask any questions you may have about what to expect.

Eat a healthy diet. If you ate a lot of fast food before pregnancy, you need to make serious

changes. Add healthy foods to your diet such as vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins right

away.

For women who are pregnant and in their 3rd trimester, they should sleep on their left side.

This eases the flow of blood to your baby in your uterus, as well as to your kidneys. Try not to

sleep on your back, as it is a bad position when it comes to blood flow.

Much like others, women who are pregnant should make every effort to apply sunscreen any

time they are going out in the sun for a while. Female skin is much more sensitive when

pregnant and can sunburn easily, which can increase the chances of skin cancer.

Keep a food diary and make note of everything you eat during the day. This will help you to

chart your progress towards meeting nutritional requirements. This will also be helpful to take

to your doctor appointments.

Don't hesitate to ask others to help with heavy lifting during your pregnancy. Lifting heavy

things can cause miscarriages or stress on your baby, not to mention that it can cause back

strains. For these reasons, it's best to get somebody to help you lift heavy things, even if you

feel like you can handle it.

If you are in the third trimester, sleeping on the left side of your body is best. By sleeping on

the left side the fetus gets the greatest blood supply, and you also get a good blood flow to

the kidneys and uterus. You don't want to rest on your back, because this position doesn't

allow for proper blood flow.

Take the time necessary to write out a birthing plan. Put what you would like others to help

you with on the list as well. Pack things that you need to bring to the hospital such as

insurance paperwork, your birth plan, your camera, batteries, and the clothes that you and

your baby will wear home from the hospital.

When it comes to the wealth of information available about pregnancy, it can be tough to

separate fact form fiction. Fortunately, the tips in this article are here to help you and not

mislead you.
