Autumn and winter 2012
Welcome to Hogs Back Books and to our autumn and winter 2012 brochure.
We have selected a range of books which form the perfect gift for any time of year, but particularly at Christmas. Take a look at The King Who Wanted More and the icy backdrop captured by Romanian born artist Madalina Dina. If you are already looking forward to spring then choose The Teeny-Weeny Walking Stick by Karen Hodgson or Three Silly Chickens by Tanya Fenton.
Hogs Back Boooks is a new and a small independent publisher of children’s picture books.
Our name is taken from the Hogs Back - a ridge of chalk which runs between Guildford and Farnham in Surrey. “Hogs Back” is thought to be derived from the ancient word “og” meaning “giant”. However, rather than choosing a giant to represent us, we’ve adopted a pig’s snout as our logo and the phrase “a nose for a good book”. We try to select only the very best stories and ideas and to match these with fresh and original illustrations to create books which inform and entertain young children.
So next time you are buying a book - sniff out Hogs Back Books!

All children love bubbles. Bella’s Bubble tells the story of an enormous bubble, which is whisked off on an exciting journey. Young children will be gripped with suspense as the bubble races across town, meeting danger at every point.
The prose bounces along with the bubble and there’s a rhyming refrain that will have children singing along at every page.
