Tamarind(Tamarindus officinalis)Sampalok is a lar-ge

tree 12 to 25 m high, nearly glabrous. Leaves are evenly pin- nate, 6 to 10 centime- ters long, with 20 to 40 leaflets, rather close oblong, ob-tuse, 1 to 2 centimeters long. Ra- cemes are mostly axil- lary though sometimes panicled, and reaching length of 5 to 10 cm.

Bilimbi(Averrhoa bilimbi )

Kamias is a small tree, growing 5 to 12 meters high. Leaves are pinnate, 20 to 60 cm long, with hairy rachis and leaflets. Leaflets are op- posite, 10 to 17 pairs, oblong, 5 to 10 centimeters in length. Panicles growing from the trunk and larger branches are hairy, 15 centimeters long or less. Flowers are about 1.5 cm long, and slightly fragrant. Fruit is green and edible, about 4 centimeters long, subcylindric, or with 5 obs- cure, broad, rounded, longi- tudinal lobes.

Star Fruit(Averrhoa carambola)

Balimbing is a small tree growing to a height of 6 meters or less. Leaves are pinnate, about 15 cm long. Leaflets are smooth, usually in 5 pairs, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, the upper ones about 5 cm long and the lower ones smaller. Panicles are small, axillary and bell- shaped, 5 to 6 millimeters long. Calyx is reddish purple.

Wormwood(Artemisia Vulgaris)

Wormwood is one of several species in the genus Artemisia com- monly known as mug- wort although Artemisia Vulgaris is the species most often called mug-wort. This species is al-so occasionally known as felon herb, chrysan-the-mum weed and wild wormwood. Mugwort is used medicinally and as culinary herbs.

Calamansi(Citrus mitis Blanco)

Kalamansi is a smooth and slightly spiny plant, growing to a height of 3 to 5 meters. Leaflets are elliptic to oblong-ellip- tic, 4 to 8 centimeters long. Flow-ers are axillary, solitary, rarely in pairs, white, and short-stalked. Fruit is yellow when ripe, nearly spherical, 2 to 3.5 centimeters diame-ter, 6- to 7-celled, and thin-skinned. The skin or peel is green to yellowish green or yellow, loosely adhering to the flesh.

Ginger(Amomum zingiber)

Ginger is an erect, smooth plant arising from thickened, very aromatic rootstocks. Leafy stems are 0.4 to 1 meter high. Leaves are distichous, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 15 to 25 centimeters long, and 2 cen-timeters wide or less. Spike is ovoid to ellipsoid, about 5 centimeters long. Bracts are ovate, cuspidate, about 2.5 centimeters long, and pale green. Calyx is 1 centimeter long or some- what less.

Mango(Mangifera indica)

Mango is a large tree-with a dense and spreading crown. Leaves are oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 10 to 30 centimeters long. The flowers are yellow, small, 3 to 4 millimeters long, borne on erect and hairy panicles, which as as often as long as the leaves. The fruit is a drupe, of varying shades of yellow, fleshy, oblong-ovoid, 10 to 15 centimeters long, and slightly compressed.

Guava(Psidium guajava)

Guava is a somewhat hairy plant reaching a height of 8 meters. Young branches are 4-angled. Leaves are opposite, ob- long to elliptic, and 1 to 5 centimeters long, the apex being pointed, and the base usually rounded. Peduncles are 1 to 3-flo- wered. Flowers are white, 3 to 3.5 centimeters across, with in-curved petals, co- ming out solitary or two to three in the leaf axils.

Garlic(Allium sativum)

Garlic is a low herb, 30 to 60 cm high. True stem is much reduced. Bulbs are broadly ovoid, 2 to 4 cm in diameter, con-sisting of several, densely crowded, an- gular and trun-cated tu-bers. Leaves are linear and flat.

Star Apple(Chrysophyllum cainito)Caimito is a tree with a

spreading crown, growing to a height of 15 meters. Bran- ches are numerous and slen-der, the young tips are cop- per-colored and covered with appressed hairs. Leaves are leathery, ovate or oblong, 7.5 to 13 cen-timeters long, poin-ted at the tip, blunt or rounded at the base and covered underneath with silky, goldenbrown, soft hairs. Flowers are purplish-white, small and clustered in the axils of leaves with 5 sepals, and a tubular corolla with 5 lobes.
