BACKWASHABLE CANDLE FILTER

WORKING PRINCIPLECandles are made of thin corrugated discs loaded on hollow pipe with holes. Compression is maintained on disc with help of springs at bottom of each candle. Housing is divided in 3 sections : Lower dirty section Seperator plate Upper clean dome Numerous candles are mounted on separator plate. Hollow pipe of every candle opens in Upper clean dome.

WORKING PRINCIPLEDirty fluid in lower section passes from outer area to inner hollow tube. Dirt accumulates on the outer surface of candle. Clean fluid passes through hollow tube to Upper clean dome. Dirt accumulation increases the differential pressure, triggering Backwashing of entire housing(s). www.harshafilters.com

NORMAL CYCLEDirty Inlet and Clean Outlet valves are OPEN. Pressure differential between INLET and OUTLET is continuously monitored. At pre-set pressure, signal is given for back- washing of candles. www.harshafilters.com

FILTER DRAIN MODEINLET and OUTLET valves are closed. Purging Valve N3 and Purging drain Valve N6 are OPENED. Compressed air is let in through N3 in bottom portion of housing. Dirty fluid in lower section is drained back into dirty tank. After pre-set time both valves CLOSE. www.harshafilters.com

BACK-WASH MODEBackwash Valve N7 and Backwash drain Valve N5 are OPENED. Compressed air is let in through N7 in top section of housing. Pressurized air and clean oil pass through each candle IN to OUT into lower section Slurry of oil and dirt is drained through N5 into bin / oil recovery. VENT MODEINLET and OUTLET valves are OPENED. Vent Valve N1 is OPENED. Housing starts filling up. Trapped air escapes through N1 After pre-set time Vent valves CLOSES Back-washable cycle is complete and Housing starts with NORMAL cycle again.www.harshafilters.com
