Dry Eyes:

Dry Eye symptoms can be defined as a lack of tears or an imbalance in

the composition of the tear film in the eyes, which can lead to a feeling

of grittiness, uncomfortable, sting or burning, itchiness and ironically

can then cause excessive tearing. Interestingly the clinician can often

see significant dry eye irritation of the surface of the eye, yet the

patient does not perceive any irritation.

Common Symptoms of dry eyes:

• Red eyes, Blurring of vision

• Itching, a gritty sensation

• Eyelids that stick together when you wake up

• This leads to the eyes drying out and becoming inflamed (red and swollen) and irritated.

• Feelings of dryness, grittiness or soreness that gets worse throughout the day
