EXPERIENCE THE OILGEAR COMPANY - CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING MGR (AMERICAS) – MILWAUKEE.

April 2014 to Present

The control systems group encompasses Hardware, Software, and Firmware and Web development for standard, specialized and specific control systems in mobile, Oil and Gas, and Industrial applications.

Responsible for the Engineering Management and Direction of the controls group in Milwaukee and Traverse City MI with the strategic goal of aligning the capabilities and productivity of these groups in the Americas. Drive to the business objectives of growing in the Energy (Oil and Gas), Mobile (Vehicular systems) and maintaining the Industrial segment.

Successfully built relationships between Engineering, Sales and Marketing and coordinate and drive product development to Roadmap developed in collaboration with Executive staff.

Successfully implemented a System Engineering Process for new projects and direct the Project Managers within the Project to accomplish Budget, Timeline and Requirements

goals of the project and customer.

Currently driving the collaboration between three companies to bring new technology to Oilgear and the partner companies in Data Analytics, Remote Asset Management and remote service capabilities.

Successfully integrated Electronics product development into the organization and developed an electronic Product Roadmap for new product introductions to the vertical market segments served. Currently running the introduction of a new electronic products into distribution. This will be the market softener to the product line for the next generation platform currently in development.

Reporting to the VP Engineering (Americas) and have 15 Direct Reports and 2 managers.

ROCKWELL AUTOMATION – PROGRAM ENGINEERING MANAGER - MEQUON, WI

Aug 2010 – April 2014

Within the Low Voltage Drives business unit responsible for Project and Program Management of various drive related products and Program Management for their flagship Product the PowerFlex750 Series Variable Frequency Drives. Estimated program costs of the PowerFlex Redesign was $110M over 3 years and a stages released over a further 2 years. I was managing this with 4 Project Managers assigned to me. 3 in Mequon and 1 in Cambridge, ON for the Medium Voltage portion of the Program.

Conducted Project and Program Management duties including Capital, Expense budget development, monitoring and correcting. Schedule development and planning including coordination between Engineering, Sales, Commercial Marketing, Production, Training and procurement. Establishing commitments and driving individual ownership of tasks, running project team meetings and reporting to the executive formally on a monthly basis.

During this period identified as the CPD development process SME and interface to the corporate process development group located in Cleveland, OH.

Successfully launched Four products on time and to budget for the Powerflex 750 series drive systems. These products were network connectivity cards and strategic to Rockwell’s drive sales. I had successfully managed the offshore teams located in India to the successful conclusion.

Successfully budgeted, monitored and controlled costs and schedule for the Powerflex 750 Series flagship product.

ASTRONAUTICS CORPORATION OF AMERICA – PROJECT ENGINEER, MILWAUKEE

Jan 2009 – Aug 2010

Responsible for the management and engineering of legacy products and current production products during known issue resolution or customer specialized customizations in hardware or software.

Lead the failure analysis and corrective action team to identify and fix field and production problems and define an engineering process and drive engineering and production to resolve the issues, occasional conducting engineering fixes myself. This lead to the development of a Pareto charting, prioritizing and determining costs to fix issues and

feedback suggestions to the development teams.

Responsible for project planning, detailed engineering analysis and leadership to resolution.

During this role I developed the product development process in line with the FAA suggested planning methodologies and drove through influence and agreement the internal development team developing the pilot’s electronic flight bag to adhere to the process.

Career progression from Electronics Development Engineer to Snr Systems Engineer with a career path through Mobile entertainment into Powertrain Electronics development and into advanced engineering development of diesel after treatment.

Experienced gained through delivering numerous products into production across multiple sites as the lead engineer interfacing with customers, other engineering groups such IT&V (independent Test and Verification), production and eventually Sales and Marketing and Product management, business development in the generation of new business proposals.

My career at Delphi was varied and had the opportunity to work alongside and lead some of the most talented engineers in the Automotive industry across many different locations in Europe and America. My technical skills and my management skills were tested at ever part of this stage of my career and gave me the skills and experience I needed to advance technically and managerially.
