Founded in 1961, the Canton Youth Symphony was created to provide young musicians with the opportunity to rehearse and perform in an advanced symphony orchestra. The Canton Youth Symphony consists of student musicians in junior and senior high school, selected by audition. These young musicians are exposed to a professional atmosphere where they can develop artistically, explore and perform. Youth Symphony members regularly work with Canton Symphony musicians in sectional rehearsals, perform alongside the Canton Symphony on occasion and present their own full concerts several times each year. The goal of the Canton Youth Symphony program is to encourage a lifelong appreciation and love of music, either as a professional musician, talented amateur, or as an enthusiastic and well informed audience member.

For the Kids Giving Circle is a simple form of philanthropy consisting of individuals who wish to donate funds that support talented young musicians. It is their dream and passion that a permanent legacy is created that encourages young people to develop their skills in music.
