FRW 1B U09 Celebrations – Song about Rosh Hashanah - Dip your Apple – The Fountainheads
Read Before Listening: Let’s know a little bit about this Jewish Celebration called Rosh Hashanah
(Hebrew: ראש השנה ) which is their New Year. Jewish New Year’s Day is usually in September or
October of our calendar. It is the first of the High Holy Days which occur in the fall. It is described in
the Torah (Bible) as יום תרועה (Yom Teruah, a day of sounding [the Shofar]). Rosh Hashanah
customs include sounding the shofar (ram’s horn) and eating symbolic foods such as apples dipped
in honey. (source: partially from Wikipedia)
