Summary: Electrical Engineer with a MSEE and more than 23 years of engineering and project management experience. Extensive engineering experience as an Automation Systems Engineer, Test Lab Supervisor, Quality Engineer and Medical Technology Systems Engineer. Strong math, physics and science background. Experienced in data analysis, statistics and team problem solving while working with internal and external partners.

Partial List of Training & Certifications:1) PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification (June 2015)2) CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Certification3) Six-Sigma Green Belt Training4) Leadership Academy Training (MBC)5) Minitab and InfinityQS Statistical Software Training6) Extensive knowledge of manufacturing control systems, processes, tools & techniques7) Vision Systems Training and implementation – correlation of vision system field-of-view

to robotics movements and actions.8) MS Access, MSSql and advanced MS Excel Software training9) Experienced programmer in a wide variety of manufacturing software environments

Summary of Experience: Coordinated multi-disciplined material problem solving teams which included internal

members from R&D, PD and Manufacturing. Extensive use of data analysis for guiding team decision-making process.

Experienced with managing material testing lab (with 5 technicians) including purchase and operation of lab equipment, training on lab procedures, statistical analysis of test results, design of experiments and measurement systems analysis.

Successfully organized and setup material testing lab in Lavras, Brazil (for running L-2664). Spent 2 weeks on-site helping to implement test procedures and train lab personnel.

Used multiple Gage R&R studies to determine validity of new testing processes and to eliminate non value-added testing processes. Partnered with R&D to conduct studies and analyze data. Also conducted experimental material trials with the same partners.

Participated in external raw chemical supplier audits for improving purchased materials, improving external processes and controlling received product.

Thorough project management experience with a wide range of technical projects including batch mixing control system upgrade, Robotics Automation cells for Injection Molding machines, Laser thickness measurement systems for extruded material, etc.

Successfully justified the purchase of a Rubber Process Analyzer (RPA) for the testing lab that quantifies many material characteristics that were not previously available.

------------------------------------------------- Work History ---------------------------------------------

Automation Systems Engineer (L&L Products) July 2013 – Present

Responsible for specifying, designing and maintaining robotic automation cells that produce automotive structural components by transferring WIP materials between pin-insertion systems, injection mold systems, cutting stations and conveyor systems.

Coordinated the electronics hardware and controls upgrade for a large batch mixing system.

Responsible for specification of communication network layout, hardware upgrades, operator-interface details, and database storage and reporting of process parameters.

Test Lab Supervisor & Quality Systems Engineer(L&L Products) December 2008 – June 2013

Directly managed a team of Material Testing Analysts. Responsible for interfacing with R&D and Product Development Engineers for the determination of material testing procedures and equipment.

Established a product testing lab in Lavras, Brazil. Coordinated the procurement and setup of lab equipment and training of the lab technicians.

Implemented a variety of test method and equipment improvements to improve testing Gage R&R. Also responsible for Measurement System Analysis improvements.

Successfully managed quality testing team that had been reduced from 5 to 3 people over a period of two years. Focused on streamlining test methods and on using data analysis and statistics to determine opportunities for improvements in efficiency.

Electrical Controls Project Engineer (L&L Products) Feb 1998 – Nov 2008

Designed a variety of new automation systems using cutting-edge technologies including camera verification systems, laser-measurement systems, robotics, servo systems, industrial PC’s, communication networks and data logging and analysis tools.

Directly managed and trained several full-time Electrical Controls Contract Engineers. Periodically coordinated the efforts of a variety of external resources for large control system upgrades.

Quartech Corporation, Shelby Twp., MI (Nov 1994 – Feb 1998)

Embedded Systems Design Engineer November 1994 –February 1998 Designed the hardware and software for several different operator interface terminals that

communicate with Programmable Logic Controllers.
