Reflecting the diversity of the Washington, DC, community, Durga Temple is located in Fairfax Station, Virginia, and provides a peaceful place for religious practice and meditation. 

Durga Temple The temple was conceptualized by local business

leaders in 1989, but did not reach the construction phase until the mid-1990s. It was Dr. Gupta’s personal guarantee of funds that allowed the project to go forward.

Durga Temple opened its doors to the public in 1999 with a ceremony presided over by Brahmin priests from a variety of temples. Today, the Temple fulfills a vital role in the Washington DC area Hindu community for cultural and worship activities.
