Does the Commissary raise its prices on paydays? It appears that prices are higher at the Commissary than in local supermarkets.

The Commissary has price changes twice a month, the 1st and the 15th. It is during those times that prices either increase or decrease depending on which products are being promoted by various venders. This policy is DeCA-wide and is not limited to the Fort Meade Commissary.

There are conflicting policies (Picerne and Garrison) regarding the age children can be left unattended.

The Garrison and Picerne Military Housing follows the same child supervision policy from the State of Maryland and Anne Arundel County. The policy states children 8 to 17 may supervise themselves if arrangements are made for a responsible adult (21 years or older) to check on their behavior or location. All these children must have an emergency plan. At a minimum, children should have a point-of-contact accessible by telephone and available for them at all times.
