Nanchang CJ-6A Pilot’s Checklist

Version 1.0 August 2003

Introduction: This Checklist is intended to promote safety and standardization within the RedStar Pilots Association membership. The checklists contained here in are only one suggested method. The pilot alone is responsible for determining the accuracy and applicability of this checklist for use in his/her aircraft, as many aircraft are different. The Red Star Pilots Association assumes no responsibility for the content, accuracy, or use of this checklist.

Normal Checklists: The Normal Checklists are to be used as a check-list.

Emergency and Abnormal Checklists: The Emergency Checklists contain time critical action items, whereas the Abnormal Checklists cover less critical malfunctions. The Emergency and Abnormal Checklists are used as do-lists, with the exception of items printed in bold . Boldface items are time-critical items that should be committed to, and performed from memory. Thereafter, use the appropriate checklist to verify all boldface items are complete. Any other checklist steps are performed by referring to the appropriate Emergency or Abnormal Checklist.

IF WARNING LIGHT REMAINS OUT: Electrical Switches (one at a time) ......On Volts/Amps..........................................Check Consider Landing at Suitable Airport (End of Procedure)

FUEL SYSTEM IMBALANCE Note: Divert to the nearest suitable airport before fuel state becomes critical. Land with at least 30 minutes fuel in the lower tank (in case fuel is trapped in the higher tank.)

Wing with higher tank quantity ............Raise

Fly in a bank (using opposite rudder to maintain heading). Monitor fuel tank quantities for indications that the higher tank is feeding. (End of Procedure)
