History of Sex tourism• As a global industry appeared in Asia

during Vietnam War, when USA troupes came to region (1961 till 1973 )

• At regular intervals battle-weary young men were sent to friendly neighboring countries to recover from the fighting. Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Thailand were the main destinations. The closest country was Thailand and it was also the most popular.

Brothels, clubs, bars and massage salons

• For many local Thai it was like winning the lottery. Young Thai women flocked to Bangkok in their thousands to provide comfort and sexual experiences for the young soldiers. Many young girls made as much money in a single night as their parents had earned in a whole lifetime working in the rice fields of the north.

In the News…28 February 2012 - ThailandCourt sentenced a woman to 41 years for forcing her 3 girls [aged 8 , 9, 10 years] into prostitution with foreign men.July 2011 – Ukraine30 years old foreigner arrested for rape of two 13 years girlsAugust 2011 - UkraineA teacher from Crimea spreads on Internet for sale photos and video with naked boys. The resource has been focused on foreigners and took place on the Canadian server, that is closed for viewing in Ukraine and Russia. He also proposed to organize the real sex with chosen boys. One of the customer, 50 y.o. – UK citizen, lives in Australia came to Crimea and was arrested during photo session with boys. At the moment 5 victims age of 10-15 (started their “business” at 8 y.o) have been indentified

The website, known as Khon Rak Dekh,meaning 'Love Children' in Thai, was used by paedophilto share pornographic material of children, many ofwhom appeared to be as young as eight years old.Advice was shared between users on the best ways togain access to children in Thailand. The Royal ThaiPolice have launched an investigation to track down thewebsite's owner and are making efforts to rescue the children
