Capernaum Inn is a peaceful and quiet retreat for Christian Pastors and Church Leaders who desire a place to

get into the presence of God by themselves, with their families or with others in the Body of Christ.

About Our Founder

Jim Way served as Executive Director of Renewed Life Ministries for twenty-four years. Renewed Life Ministries involved over five-hundred Churches from Palm Beach County through Indian River County in various outreaches, conferences, leadership meetings, etc. Fourteen Senior Pastors served on Renewed Life Ministries Board, representing close to forty-thousand parishioners on the east coast of Florida. Jim was a Management Consultant to National Manufacturing Industries for twenty-five years before he was called to full-time ministry.

Our History Timeline 1982-Renewed Life Ministries sponsored a yearly men’s retreats at

Dunklin Memorial Camp 1990-The Business, Civic, and Ministry Coalition in Saint Lucie

County was community. 1995-Renewed Life Ministries was absorbed into the fold

Capernaum Ministries (formerly called Visitation House) 2000 through 2001-A Foundation presented a substantial donation

to build Capernaum Inn. Summer of 2009-Another substantial donation was given for a

beautiful piece of property on Lake Pierce (approximately 20-acres) with six hundred feet of lakefront with eight cabins, a guest house, meeting and dining facilities.

March 1, 2010-Capernaum Ministries opened Capernaum Inn, a Pastor’s Retreat and Conference Center.

Capernaum Ministries Board cumulatively has a significant background (235+ years) in ministry and Pastoral leadership, as well as business, military and entrepreneurial expertise

8 cabins , 2 bedroom/2 bathroom guest house Meeting rooms, FREE WIFI 600-feet of lakeside (tables/chairs available for meal, reading, etc.) 125-foot dock for fishing / boating (with ramp) / watching the sunrise or sunsets A winding nature walk through the rustic wooded areas surrounding the retreat center Beautifully landscaped Prayer Garden, complete with benches overlooking the lake A Prayer Walk nature trail through natural vegetation to a secluded area to pray, read, reflect. Opened facility on March 1, 2010 The Lake Wales Revivals Conducting 11 “Pastor Discovery Laboratories” 15 local Pastors meet for weekly prayer every

Tuesday morning. The Purchase of Property that has eight cabins, a

2-BR Guest House, Several Meeting Rooms, and a Main Lodge area suitable for Larger Groups (up to 65)

Began “Women of Prayer” – and intercessory prayer ministry that meets the fourth Saturday of

each month – to pray for the city and to minister to one another.

Formed the “Business, Civic, & Ministry Coalition of Lake Wales”

Reaching 5 Local Schools and Impacting students, teachers, parents and community.

Bringing the Business Leaders together for a Bible Study & Prayer Breakfast every Friday morning

Raised funds and implemented High School Entrepreneur Program-Lake Wales HS
