TODAY’S MESSAGE: Soul Care: The Soul Needs Freedom, Psalm 119:17-32. WORSHIP SCHEDULE: 8:15 Early worship in the Sunrise Chapel; 9:30 Classic worship in the Sanctuary; 10:45 Contemporary worship in the Sunrise Chapel. BASEBALL OUTING: Isotopes vs. Iowa Cubs, Saturday, July 29, at 7:05pm, with a fireworks show after the game. Buy tickets in Fellowship Hall: $10.50. HAVE A HEART FOR THOSE WHO ARE GRIEVING? Our church needs a small team of volunteers to help plan and facilitate funeral receptions. Skills needed are: making phone calls, shopping, or helping with set-up and service. Even if you only have one of these skills, there's a place for you on our team. We have a well-established process, thanks to our current facilitators, and a deacon will serve along side you. Call or email Terri Roseth 856-6964, [email protected].

LIVING WATER TRIPS. If you are interested in learning more about the Living Water trips for 2018, there will be an Informational Meeting on Sunday, July 23 after the 10:45 service. We will be giving simple overviews of the two trips we have planned for 2018, Feb 17-24 to Guatemala and June 24-30 to Nicaragua. We will answer any questions you may have and provide some basic info about the cost, how to sign up, and what you actually do on a trip. Here’s your chance to ask any questions you may have! We would love for you to join the Living Water Team from Sandia Pres in 2018! If you have any additional questions, please contact Nancy Key at [email protected], or Steve Sobolik at 292-3959, [email protected]. NEWSPAPERS WANTED: Our Youth Ministry is searching for newspapers! Please collect yours during the week and drop them off in the designated receptacle on Sundays in the Youth Office! MISSING THE MONTLY SENIOR LUNCHEONS? We are taking a break for the summer but will be back with great speakers, lunch and fellowship on Thursday, August 17. INFORMATION, PLEASE… Come check out the Welcome Centers outside the Sunrise Chapel and the Sanctuary for information and sign-up sheets. Helpful volunteers will be there to assist you. TOOL-BELT MINISTRY: There are small repair projects around the church that need help. Projects include patching plaster, touching up paint, changing light bulbs, and small outside projects. You are invited to be at the church the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month between 9:00 AM-noon to share your skills. Business/Facilities Manager Tom Emigh will have projects lined up. Bring your skills and small hand tools and let’s keep SPC looking nice. IN NEED OF SUPPORT? Are you in need of prayer, a meal, transportation, or know someone who is? Your Deacons are here for you! You'll find a deacon or two each Sunday near the Welcome Tables outside the Sanctuary and The Sunrise Chapel following each service.

NEW WORSHIP SERVICES DESCRIPTION

8:15 in the SRC - This service leans somewhat traditional: call to worship, a hymn, and another hymn before the benediction. We might include a contemporary song in the middle. There will be special music performed by various groups and ensembles in the church. The choir will rarely make an appearance in this service. There will be no organ since the service meets in the Sunrise Chapel (SRC). There will be no children’s sermon at this service, but there will be childcare up to 5 years old. This service is very casual and designed for people who like to get an early start on Sundays.

9:30 in the Sanctuary - This is the Traditional Service. This service also begins and ends with a hymn and includes the same liturgy as the 8:15 service. This service will include the 40-member chancel choir and the organ. The choir and the ministers wear robes at this service. This service will also feature special music from soloists and various ensembles. The same sermon will be given by the same pastor as the 8:15 service. There will be a children’s sermon at this service. After the children’s sermon, kids will be able to attend Sunday School. This is our biggest service, designed for people who prefer a more traditional feel.

10:45 Contemporary in the SRC - The contemporary service is new to Sandia Presbyterian and is very relaxed and casual. Naturally, the music is very contemporary and new. Singing is led by a worship leader and a band. Only very rarely will there be special music performed as the music is meant to be participatory. The same sermon will be given by the same pastor as the earlier two services. There will be a children’s message at this service. After the children’s sermon, kids will be able to attend Sunday School which is also offered this hour.
