REMEMBERING THE ANZACSCanberra’s Anzac Day Dawn Service is one of the nation’s most moving ceremonies. Gather with thousands of Australians in the pre-dawn light on 25 April to commemorate the first military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Experience the emotion of a lone bugler playing the Last Post. Pay your respects to those who gave their lives in the service of their country. Leave a poppy on the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier. After the ceremony, gain a true understanding of our Anzacs’ experiences and explore the galleries at the Australian War Memorial. awm.gov.au
