What is AIESEC?

"The international platform for young people to discover and develop their leadership potential"

AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organization, Present in over 110 countries and territories and with over

60,000 active members and over 1 million alumni.

AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to participate in international internships, experience leadership and

participate in a global learning environment.

AIESEC aims at promoting cultural awareness and understanding, and its goal is to provide youth with personal and

professional development and experience needed to become positive change agents and change their society in the

future.

AIESEC’s Scope

AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, non-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of

institutions of higher education. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, national,

ethnic or social origin.

What makes AIESEC unique is the youth driven impactful experience that it offers to its members. AIESEC is run by

young people for young people, enabling a strong and rich experience to all its stakeholders.

Our exchange program Our exchange program aims at raising cultural awareness and increasing

intercultural understanding. It achieves this by giving youth the

opportunity to immerse themselves in a foreign culture and discover it

for themselves.

Going on exchange is a life changing experience; it changes your views

on the world, you Interact with a different social and cultural

environment, it pushes you to grow out of your comfort zone and

discover your potential.

Going on exchange gives you the opportunity to represent Egypt abroad and to develop theoretical and

practical leadership skills, and to contribute to your personal and professional life goals.

Any exchange participant must be a student in a higher academic institution (including Masters and PhD)

or a recent graduate (up to 2 years after completing their last degree).

AIESEC’s exchange program is available for everyone, including non AIESEC members.

Why is going on exchange with AIESEC a life changing experience?

With our cultural exchange opportunities, you are guaranteed to experience a foreign culture inside and

out, not just see the sights, follow the tour guides and do the shopping.

The way our exchange goes is that AIESEC members from the host local committee become your friends

ever since you leave the airplane, their job is to take care of you, immerse you into their culture and learn

yours as well; this guarantees that your experience will be very rich and exciting.

While you are abroad, you contribute to a project by working in a team with many other interns from

around the world, so you won’t just learn one culture, but experience such cultural diversity that will open

up your mind and greatly expand your vision, as well as provide you with personal and professional

development while having an amazing unforgettable experience. You will get the chance to make many

close friends from all around the world, and truly feel that you are a citizen of the world.

Global Community Development Program

Discover is a student exchange project targeting people

between 18 and 28 who want to live and volunteer in a

foreign country for a period of 6 to 12 weeks.

Discover provides students and recent graduates with an

amazing cultural experience by working directly on

development projects in foreign countries to immerse

themselves with the local people and culture. Work fields

may include children’s rights, environmental issues,

education, rural development and entrepreneurship.

One of the main aims of Discover is to allow students to explore exotic cultures and have a positive impact

on societies in need. Through Discover, participants are guaranteed a unique journey of self-discovery and

cultural exploration. Everyone can join Discover as long as they keep an open mind and are open for

adventure and exploring new places! Accommodation is provided in 95% of the opportunities.

Opportunities are available in many countries depending on the time of year.

Cure allows participants to volunteer on HIV/AIDS awareness projects and live

in developing countries for a period of 6 to 12 weeks.

Cure is specially designed for Pharmacy and Medicine students who would like

to know how is it like to work closely with HIV/AIDS and how can they help by

increasing peoples’ awareness about it. Once abroad, exchange participants are

better prepared to apply their knowledge in tasks such as educating school

children and communities about HIV/AIDS, helping nonprofit organizations

develop programs to combat HIV/AIDS, as well as providing support to groups

vulnerable to the virus.

Cure project has the same requirements as Discover, with the addition that

medical skills are preferred.

Global Internship Program

The Business Stop is a year-long project targeting Business school and faculty of commerce graduates who want to live and work abroad for a period of 6 to 18 months. The Business Stop provides participants with essential professional experience they need to have a successful career in their field. The Business Stop may include finance, project management,

marketing, human resources, and business administration and accounting fields. The participant must have academic and working backgrounds in the field of work. A salary sufficient for living expenses is provided

Through The Business Stop, participants can experience living and working abroad, learning new languages or developing the ones they already know, and immersing themselves in a new culture. Most popular countries include Turkey, India, China, Malaysia and Russia.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the largest IT service

providers in the world, headquartered in India. A part of the Tata

Group, India’s largest industrial conglomerate, TCS has over 160,000 of

the world's best trained IT consultants in 42 countries.

With Globalization, TCS entered into a close collaboration with AIESEC.

This collaboration primarily focused in AIESEC International helping TCS in sourcing interns from its

countries of presence, thereby helping TCS in increasing employee diversity and cultural mix within the

organization and building a strong employer brand globally.

Join ACE now if:

You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English

You are willing to work and live in India for a period of 12 to 18 months

You have previous relevant working experience

Programming: C++, C, ASP, VB.net, Java, .Net, UNIX

[Candidates are not required to have knowledge/experience in all the languages/technologies

mentioned above. Two or three skills on the proficient level are often enough to start with. Person

will be allocated based on personal aspirations, level of technical skills as well as current needs of

existing projects] A salary sufficient for living expenses is provided

Educational traineeships

The exchange participant has the opportunity to work in a company, NGO, government, university or organization

and will spend the majority of his/her time working in areas related to Education. These areas may include teaching

a language, teaching another subject in another language, curriculum development, character development, career

counseling and cultural interaction. A salary sufficient for living expenses is provided

The exchange participant should have academic and working backgrounds in the field of education.

So what happens when you apply for exchange? you fill an exchange application and you go through the exchange interview

You sign a contract with AIESEC Alexandria. The contract is an official document stating your responsibilities

towards the exchange program, as well as our responsibilities towards you as an exchange participant.

On signing the contract, you pay 1000LE. AIESEC is a non-profit organization; any amount of money received

through the exchange program is used to sustain AIESEC and its global internet database, as well as giving

you preparation sessions prior to traveling.

Next comes matching. Matching is finding an exchange opportunity and associating it with you. People from

AIESEC will be responsible for matching you; the matching process will be in coordination with your

preferences.

Once you are found a match, an online interview is conducted before final acceptance.

If we fail to find a match after one year, 400LE is refunded back to the exchange participant

We prepare you for traveling abroad and give you as much information as we can to ensure you have a rich

experience and minimize potential for problems.

Once you arrive abroad, AIESEC members from the host country will meet you and you will be their

responsibility throughout your internship. They will involve you in their activities, immerse you in their

culture, and make sure you are gaining the experience you are looking for. AIESEC Alexandria will also follow

up with you during your internship.

After you arrive home, you are encouraged to present your experience to AIESEC members. An arriving

exchange participant has the choice to be integrated in the Local Committee, which is becoming an AIESEC

member.

You may go on more than one traineeship; the exchange program allows any person to have a maximum

total of 18 months on exchange, either continuously or on separated intervals.
