Institutionalise the route as an attractive tourist product and make it long-term sustainable and efficient
Improve and intensify the route marketing to individual tourists and tourism industry by targeted instruments and activities
Foster the exchange and know-how transfer in the field of tourism marketing and heritage preservation / activation by transnational seminars and local demonstration actions

Establishment of an Identity and Quality Axis from the Baltic to the Aegean Sea
Starting Point: Reanimation of a well recognized tourism corridor from Eastern Germany to Bulgaria dating from before 1990
Budget: 1,4 Million Euro; Duration: 11/2003 – 12/2006
Main concerns:
o Identify potentials for distinct regional identity
o Elaborate development concepts for making use of and marketing typical and unique cultural features;
o Raising the internal and external awareness for the attractiveness of the regions and the tourism axis
o Quality management in tourist services for introducing international quality standards
Planned result: an attractive tourism axis with high quality offers
