Having music at your wedding and

wedding reception is your choice, but

having a poorly entertaining DJ can ruin

your glorious moment.

There are six key things that you should

always check into before hiring a DJ.

1. Are they within your budget? It’s best to

hire within your budget to allow room for

other must haves at your wedding. An

overpriced DJ might be awesome, but quality

can also be found in lower priced DJs.

2. Create a list of local DJs. If you’re

wedding is taking place outside of your

hometown, look into local DJs that play in

the area that is it taking place in. This can

help with a DJ showing up late because

they were stuck in traffic.

3. Preview the DJ and discuss concerns and

questions. Before hiring anyone it’s best to

preview their work in person. Also before

hiring discussing any arrangements regarding

the wedding is ideal.

4. Avoid added fees. Many large companies

will charge extra for equipment that should

be included in the package deal. Be sure to

watch out for those added charges.

5. Is the Presentation of the DJ accurate?

All DJs should look the part they are

performing. A clean cut, nicely dressed DJ

will make a splash opposed to a saggy

pants wearing, unshaved, bad hygiene

hoodlum.

6. Get everything in writing. When it comes

to your wedding everything should be

perfect. In order to get the best out of your

DJ you should always have a contract

stating they will provide the best service

possible, have all of the necessary

equipment, back up equipment, and any

other information or items that relate to this

particular gig.
