The Call to Worship

Leader: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within Thy gates O Jerusalem! (Psalm 122:1)

People: For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10)

Leader: Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek Thy good. (Psalm

122:9)

People: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God. (Psalm 92:13)

Leader: Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house. Lord, I have loved Thy habitation, the place where Thy honor dwelleth. (Psalm 26:8)

People: For the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him.

(Habakkuk 2:20).

Leader: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord my strength and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

Congregational Christmas CarolsHark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King;

Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!”

Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies;

With the’ angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the new-born King!”

Christ, by highest heaven adored; Christ, the ever lasting Lord!

Late in time behold Him come, Off spring of the virgin’s womb,

Veiled in flesh the God-head see; Hail th’ incarnate Deity,

Pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.

Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the new-born King!”

Hail the heaven-born Price of Peace! Hail the Sun of Righteousness!

Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings,

Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die,

Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth

Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the new-born King!”

Angels We Have Heard on High

Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o’er the plains,

And the mountains in reply Echo back their joyous strains,

Refrain

Glo- ri-a in ex-cel-sis De-o,

Glo-ri-a in ex-cel-sis De-o.

Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong?

Say what may the tidings be, Which inspire your heavenly songs?

Refrain

Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing;

Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Refrain

See within a manger laid Jesus, Lord of heaven and earth!

Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, With us sing our Savior’s birth.

The Offertory (Tithes ~ Gifts ~ Benevolent Offerings)

Celebration of Giving Litany

MINISTER: It is now time for us to share in giving. Why do we give?

CONGREGATION: We give because all we have comes from God. According to

Deuteronomy 8:18, it is God who gives us the power to get wealth.

MINISTER: Why do we give?

CONGREGATION: We give because God commands us. Malachi 3:10 states that we

are to bring the full tithe into God’s storehouse.

MINISTER: Why do we give?

CONGREGATION: We give because God said in Luke 6:38, to give and He would give

back to us a more abundant blessing.

MINISTER: Why do we give?

CONGREGATION: We give because 2 Corinthians 9:7 states that God loves a cheerful

giver.

MINISTER: Our tithe symbolizes all of the ways that we have been blessed by God:

spiritually, physically, mentally, and financially and with gifts and talents.

ALL: Thank you Lord, for the privilege of giving. We are excited about

paying the tithe and giving the offering. We know that you are

faithful to your promises. Therefore, we trust you in faith to do

what you have said. AMEN!

Choral Response: “All things come of Thee, O Lord; and of Thine own have we given Thee. Amen.”

Scripture of the Day

God’s Love. “We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”

1 John 4:16

Quote of the Day

“Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” C.S. Lewis

Thought of the Week"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us." 1 John 4:18-19 NKJVWhen John wrote this letter, he seemed overwhelmed with the reality of God’s love. Over and over again, he wrote about this love. In fact, the word “love” is used 33 times in this letter.John knew that this love gives the right perspective on life. It frees us from the impulses that dominate the world. We no longer are obsessed with self-interest and pride. We can be selfless and focus on eternal values.John discovered that God’s love is pure, the perfect motivation. His love has power. It casts out fear, and overcomes worry, doubt, and anxiety. This love is forgiving and kind. It is practical and applies in every situation we face. In fact, accepting God’s love changes our lives. When asked to name the greatest commandment, Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:38). In short, the greatest thing we can do is to love God with everything that is within us.The Bible makes clear that God wants us to realize how much He loves us, and to know how much He is ready to bless us … if we love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.If we understand God’s love, we realize that He is love. Motivated by that love, we love to please Him and fellowship with Him. We love to know His Word and show love to others around us. Filled with His love, we eagerly share the Gospel.Focus your thoughts on God right now. Love Him, unconditionally. Thank Him for His love. And let that love flow you to people all around you.https://inspiration.org/daily-devotional/overwhelmed-gods-love/

Humor of the WeekIt was Christmas and the judge was in a merry mood as he asked the prisoner, “What are you charged with?" "Doing my Christmas shopping early", replied the defendant. "That's no offense", said the judge. "How early were you doing this shopping?" "Before the store opened."

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Christmas Greetings from Pastoral Family The Angels herald God’s great love for us.

The birth of the Christ Child is a radical assault on the kingdom of evil in this world. His birth demonstrates eternal hope, love, and peace in the midst of profound suffering and pain. In the midst of our joy, freedom, and power in Christ, may we work for the eradication of evil at all

levels. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, I pray that the light of kindnessand hope be reborn in you so that you will never tire of being selfless and brave.

May this Christmas bring you much joy and happiness, and may your New Year be merry and bright. Thanks for being such a great friend!Pastor Campbell, Lady Melinda and Terrence

Financial gifts donated through the 20/20 initiative are added to our collected conference claims and assist greatly in meeting the first and second half of our Connectional Budgetary obligations. The Steward Board is requesting 150 participants for conference year 2018-2019. The first half of our budget is due in February 2019. In addition to the 18 officers and team captains we are asking STARTING TODAY 127 people to give 20 dollars per week for 20 weeks in addition to your regular tithes, gifts and offerings. Please mark your envelopes 20/20 and allocate $20.00.  Our goal is to raise $60,000.  Again, this will satisfy all budgetary needs on the conference level without utilizing any operational funds.  Please see or contact any Steward to participate; we are looking forward to your commitment
