    Jason Ladanye, a well-known card magician and author whos performed at world-class casinos and on national television looked to update his aging Flash based site.

    The entire site redesign was overseen by my previous employer, Distill Mill. We set to recreate an entirely new brand for Jason that was clean, modern and James Bond-like, without being inauthentic.

    My main goal when designing the site to convey the same feeling you get after watching Jasons performance immediately after visiting the page; awe-inspiring and mysterious. Using a dark color palette does just that; in addition with the tasteful

    magician-themed assets like the card suits blended into backgrounds, photos and buttons with rounded edges and pinstripes and fanned-out cards as containers for the tabbed menu and footer.

    The final responsive site was designed over the course of several weeks, starting with basic wire framing and user-experience testing before designing and layouts. After some minor adjustments after client review, we moved into finalizing the site.

    Be Local is all about supporting our neighbours and their businesses to grow our community together. Everything for Be Local, including their website, was locally-sourced.

    In a tourist town as busy and as culturally rich as Saratoga Springs, New York, the inspiration for Be Local is clear. The town has always celebrated its rich history and unique, locally owned small businesses. But in the face of growing corporate expansion, Be Local aims to continue to support the community; even going as far as to ensure 100% of the business is locally sourced.

    I was contacted in mid-July to take over

    the building as it was running behind as the original launch date of August 1st was only about two weeks away. I started sketching out layouts and key ideas right away and from the beginning it was clear -- this one had to be simple.

    Given the wide user-base that would be using the site and the short build time, the site is very basic with little bells and whistles, but 110% functional for both existing using looking for new offers and

    Ive been fortunate enough to have known and collaborated with Truemaster Trimingham, aka DJ Trumastr since my first days in Albany.

    Im even more fortunate to be his art director for his digital media and event marketing for the last year.

    A Truemaster show isnt an ordinary show. The amount of preparation and planning that goes into every single one of his events and weddings is unmatched. I stepped in to ensure his branding and image matched his hard work. It started with designing some event posters and social media assets. But after an afternoon brainstorming session

    over his famous coffee, True decided to move forward with his plan to rebrand his entire wedding business. Say I Tru was born, and a week and a half later, it had a brand new website.

    The site is a simple one page breakdown of Trues offerings and testimonials in a fun, playful way. The entire purpose of the site is to show True doing what he does best, connecting people through music.
