donating on a budget
TRANSCRIPT
A COMMON DILEMMMA
YOU WANT TO GIVE MONEY TO WORTHY CAUSES, BUT YOU DON’T HAVE MUCH OR ANY EXTRA CASH EVERY MONTH. FORTUNATELY, THERE ARE STILL WAYS THAT YOU CAN MAKE DONATIONS EVEN WHEN YOU’RE ON A TIGHT BUDGET.
SWAP OUT AN UNNECESSARY EXPENSE
FOR A DONATION
By skipping a daily daily stop for coffee and a snack a few times a week can save up to $20-$30, more than enough for a donation!
FIND THE RIGHT CHARITY
Although it would be ideal, on a
budget, we can not give to all of the
charities we want. Find one that
speaks to you as in individual, and
limit your donations to their specific
cause.
GIVE YOUR TIME
There are all kinds of volunteer opportunities available
that you can try in your free time. Places that typically
need volunteers include hospitals, food pantries, senior
centers, and religious organizations. Just like you would
if you were choosing a place to donate your money, look
around to find an option that matches your values.
DONATE UNUSED ITEMS
Many people could find plenty to
donate just by spending 20 minutes
going through their closets.
You can donate almost any household
item that you want:
-appliances
-clothing
-books
-toys
While two of the most popular
organizations that accept these types
of donations are Goodwill and the
Salvation Army, there are likely
others in your area.
DONATE MEDICALLY
You have everything you need to donate on your person
at all times! From simple tasks as cutting your hair for
Locks of Love, to life changing donation of plasma, you
can help those in need all the time!
