Alls well that ends well is quite an

ordinary phrase for the year gone by.

The word “Amazing” would be an

understatement. Area 2 is on a different

high, a level above the rest and each

table and tabler in this area has

contributed to the position Area 2 is in

and the respect it commands all over the

country. Area 2 is usually referred to as

the DEN of tabling and after this DO

MORE year, the DEN now houses many

more Lions & Tigers thanks to the

potential which has been tapped during

this wonderful year gone by.

As we thought the year is coming to an

end and the change over would happen

peacefully, Area 2 Tables resisted a calm

May & June and in fact came up with 3

intertable events (Quiz X, Bowling &

Sterl ing Open)and 1 mega fund

raiser(KK Live). I salute Area 2 for the

zeal, zest, enthusiasm and stamina.

Talk of the TOWNInter Table @ Area 2 was at an all time high in May & June 2014 which saw Quiz X being revived by MWRT10, Strike 39 B o w l i n g Championship of MSRT39 which saw m a x i m u m participation in an a r e a e v e n t , a n d S t e r l i n g O p e n Tennis Tournament of MSRT123 which saw a unique twist to the game of tennis. All this in just 2 m o n t h s w i t h m a x i m u m participation was an amazing fete.

The 4th AEX of Area 2 was held at the Tr. Madan’s Farmhouse in Pondicherry. The last of the most awaited AEX of the DO MORE year was worth remembering thanks to the picturesque and scenic venue overlooking the waters.

The tables achievements were showcased across all facets of tabling for the last quarter and the amount and quality of work done in the year gone by is truly remarkable and A2 has set a benchmark for itself to achieve in the forthcoming years.

Post the serious discussions was the time to feast on the sea food delicacies followed by adventure rides on the speed boats in the backwaters. Thanks to PHRT167 who went out of the way to make sure all the Tablers present had a good time at the 4th AEX.

The AEX was quite different, thanks to the ambience and open air seating. AC. Tr.Hari was crowned for this phenomenal work guiding all tables in Area 2 and motivating them to DO MORE and think beyond the ordinary.

Tr. Vijay also bagged the Player of the Tournament trophy knocking the highest score of 177 , 2 points ahead of his fellow Tr. Pavan Voora.MMRT 3 swept the Event by also bagging the Fellowship award by having over 30 heads registered for event.The event had footfall of 215 heads from Area 2 making it a Grand success clearly the maximum attended Inter Table event of the year.

Tr. Kaushal welcomed Area LAPD Convenor Tr. Varinder Singh Sahey of MERT 30 to conduct a HR session on “Know your Partner Well”. Tr. Varinder handed all the participants a Questionnaire, which had simple questions like Favorite Place, Holiday Location, Car and so on.. He further gave all participants just 2 mins time to answer them and collected the papers.

Tr. Varinder then read some questions from the paper and asked the group to give out the name of the person who filled the form. Most of the time guys called out their respective partners name correctly. He further called the person and asked the remaining questions. It was amazing to hear the right answers and sometimes fun to hear the wrong ones and bully on them. The essence of the session was truly to understand if we all knew our partners well. Whether or not knowing them well, we all live out life so well, however knowing them well, we could lead a much better life together. A light HR session added fun to the political atmosphere created by the Host.

While the Individuals saw Men and Women from MMRT 3, MSRT 39, MCRT 82, MCRT 94, MSRT 123 & MSRT 159 fighting for the Championship title, Tr. Vijay of MMRT 3 won the Men Singles with Tr. Uttam seized the Runners up title. Vani Vijay of MMRT 3 won the Women Championship with Niki Nanavati of MMRT 3 grabbed the Runner up title.

8] MSRT 123 | 4th Quarter Report for Tabling Year 2013 - 2014

INTER TABLE EVENTS BY MSRT 123 STERLING OPEN

MSRT123 took the DO MORE theme too seriously. In the last month of the year MSRT 123 organized an inter-table Sterling Open Tennis Tournament @ Singaram Pillay Tennis Academy. In the sultry heat of Chennai, we saw some 50-60 participants including twinklers. Sai Jaylakshmi (RT 94) & Anu (RT 42) were winners in Circle category.

MWRT10’s QUIZ XAfter 9 long years, the quiz event @ MWRT10 was revived. The event was well received by the Tablers with 16 teams participating and MART100 managed to quality with 3 teams to the finals.

MSRT39‘s STRIKE39With 26 teams participating and over 35 Individual Registrations the Intertable event of MSRT39 was a hit from the very beginning. While the kids enjoyed the bowling, games & rides, Tablers & Circlers fought it out for the Area 2 title. MSRT 159 emerging as the Team Champions of 2014 with MSRT 123 bagging the Runners Up.

MSRT123’s STERLING OPENA unique concept of American Doubles Tennis in an Inter Table event was quite an interesting one and was appreciated by the participants. The heat did not deter the players from some serious tennis. While Sai Jaylakshmi (MCRT94) & Anu (MMRT42) were winners in Circle category. Rajeev (MCRT94) won in the Table category & Ashwath Arjun in Twinklers.

May&Jun 2014 MRT1MRT1 raised Rs.400000/- through donations from various quarters and used these funds for the Classrooms and other projects during May & June’14.

MERT30’s Kids CarnivalMERT30 raised Rs.220000/- for the Kids Carnival event which was a very special event for the needy children from FTE supported schools supported by various tables from Area 2. This was one mega event for RTI.

MCRT94Further to the contributions received so far from Sq.Lgs in the last 3 quarters additional Rs.200000/-was also received towards Sanjeevi Corpus Fund.

MSRT123’s KK NightHats off to Tr.Nitesh and TEAM 123 for pulling off an amazing and spectacular fundraiser at the fag end of the tabling year. KK rocked Chennai and the audiences @ Lady Andal. People in the balcony were on their feet dancing to the tunes. In fact, security had to be called in to control the crowd. He sang as if there was no tomorrow and the audiences were enthralled. MSRT123 & MSLC63 raised Rs.1000000/- through this event by the Hindu and managed by Olive.

Many tablers from Area 2 attended the event and it was an inter table event of a kind.

The MessageA mime act was orgainsed for the kids, the actors were small kids from an NGO

Oasis India which works with underprivileged children. The kids performed on two themes one on the wrong usage of mobile phones & its risks and the second one

on how man evolved and how he destroys the world with modern weapons. Thank you HC Shweta for helping us orgnaise the mime.

The FoodWe made sure the kids get good & hygienic food & snacks. We started with

welcome drink, goodies like pop corn and candy, packaged water and an extensive sit down lunch & evening snacks with coffee & tea were served.

May&Jun 2014 MRT1MRT1 had done multiple projects in the months of May’14 & June’14. Multiple visits to Seva Samajam – Pallipattu, Government School, Kelambakkam, Government School , Padur where community service activities were undertaken. An RO Plant at Mahesh Memorial was installed at a total outlay of Rs.300000/-, Roofing work for Rs.35000/- was completed at Kelambakkam School and classroom block was completed at Egmore school at a cost of Rs.225000/- totaling to Rs.560000/- for May’14 & Jun’14.

MWRT10MWRT10 completed the contribution of all dues to the Tanker Foundation for the year. In addition, they have initiated spade work for the construction of a library, playground and solar power unit at the FTE School – Sri Sankara Matriculation School, Thandalam.

MERT30PROJECT TANGLED was a wonderful initiative by the Rotract Club WCC girls, who donated their hair to the victims of cancer who lost their hair due to their treatment.

MERT30 joined hands with Area 2 LC and Bangalore Tables and donated hearing aids to kids worth Rs.3000/-

On 11th June’14, MERT30 had the Pooja for the 2nd Block at SASHA MOHINANI School, the Long Term FTE project of the 30ers.

Bhoomi Pooja of the Toilet block at St.Joseph school in Mahalingapuram was held on 19th June’14 - a joint project of MERT30 & 82. MERT30 contributed Rs.150000/- towards this project.PR

May&Jun 2014 MERT30600 kids from various schools FTE Schools supported by Area 2 Tables MERT30, MMRT42, 82, MCRT94, MSRT123, and 162 were present for a mega kids carnival hosted and organised by MERT30 & MELC100 at St.Georges School on 15th Jun’14. Loads of games, prizes, entertainment were organized for the underpreveliged children. A fantastic concept and implementation by the 30ers.

MMRT42M M R T 4 2 ‘ s P a l l i k a r a n a i S c h o o l construction has been progressing well and the 6 c lassrooms are under completion. Incoming Chairman Tr. George decided to construct another 6 classrooms in a new block, as funds are already available. Bhoomi Pooja for the same was conducted in the presence of Tr.Mehul, Tr.Vasu, Tr.Hari and Tr.Manoj during the last week of May 2014.

MMRT 42 has also signed an MOU with the Government School, Pallikaranai to build 18 classrooms. This is a landmark achievement for MMRT 42 as it will be a mega project and will showcase FTE to the entire RTI community in its best form.

MCRT94MCRT94 received the 1st phase payment through Global Giving from FORD for the schools project to be jointly done with Ford India in 8 schools. M/s.Ramaniyam Builders agreed to monitor the project with site engineers to supervise the site work progress absolutely free of cost thanks to Special Invitee K.S.Senthil Kumar.

The IdeaTr. Vikram sowed the seed in our minds....... And as it is always at 30........we worked on it together, with every step the event grew better and larger and the outcome was there for everyone to witness - KIDS CARNIVAL 2014.

The Event MERT 30 and LC 100 jointly hosted the kid’s carnival for the underprivileged Children from various schools, tution centres and orphanages in Chennai. A good number of the kids were from schools and projects supported by various tables : RT42, 82, 94, 123 and 162

The SmilesThe most satisfying part of the event was watching the smiles on the children’s faces and their excitement when they arrived as they collected their cap, bag, game cards and saw all that they can play and do...............

The BrandingWe made A backdrop, special bags & caps for the carnival with RTI & LCI logo clearly mentioned as it would give huge publicity for the movement.

May&Jun 2014 MCRT94MCRT94 confirmed the receipt of funds by RTI Trust account approx. Rs.9.3 Lakhs towards the construction of Sanjeevi’s Compound wall from Ford.

MSRT123MSRT123 & MSLC63 donated an RO Plant to the Hope Foundation School in May’14 and had collected and contributed funds for the Reverse Rett Project as well.

The 6 classroom project at Vivekananda School was inaugurated on 28th June’14 by NS.Tr.Suman Voora, AVC.Tr.Shriram Duvvuri, A2ITC Tr.Kaushal Shah in the presence of all tablers & circlers of 123 & 63 and students and staff of the school. The school organised a play on Swami Vivekananda for all the guests which was very well received by all.

MHRT124MHRT124 contributed Rs.3000/- towards AREA-2 project – Distribution of hearing aid kits to children of a deaf and dumb school at Santhome.

MSRT159On 25th Jun’14 2 Classrooms were i n a u g u r a t e d a t G o v t G i r l s School,Padappai by chief guest AC. Tr.Hari Balaji. It was a pleasure seeing kids enjoying the new classroom built and a proud moment for MSRT 159.

HIGHLIGTHS OF THE THIRD QUARTER

PHRT 167 is setting up a Basketball court at Fathima Higher Secondary School. Hon.Chief Minister of Puducherry N.Rangasamy shall inaugurate the Basketball court on 29th June 2014. Area Chairman Tr.Hari Balaji, NS Tr.Suman Voora, AST Tr.Vinay Grandhi, AVC Tr.Shriram shall also be present for the inauguration.

Our Inter-table Convenor Tr.Venkataramani attended the 1st AGM of SRT1 & SKRT2 held at Singapore. He becomes the 1st Tabler from PHRT 167 to attend a meeting of an International Table

May&Jun 2014 MRT1The Flying Elephant was host to MRT1 Lions o 14th Jun’14 for a full fun fellowship.

The vices trip is the most sought after trip in Tabling in Are 2 and MRT1 too had their share of fun between the 26th & 29th Jun’14 at their Vices Holiday.

MWRT10After a successful QUIZX night, the Tenors toasted to a few drinks and sang the night away in May.

From partying at Dublin to a Sailing Fellowship organized by Tr.Ankur, Tenors did have their share of party in the last 2 months of the DO MORE year.

MERT30A Lazy Sunday saw a good turn out of about 25 heads including tablers, sq legs , circlers and twinklers. Tablers jumped in to the pool with great enthusiasm keen to show off their great physique and their family packs.

Movie Fel lowships - Spider man2, Godzilla, Ek Tha Villian - 30ers were on a high with movies with a good bunch of movie buffs.

Radisson Blu was the next stop for the 30ers for a wide spread brunch and flowing beer which made sure the guys and gals felt high. The twinklers wasted no time and jumped in the pool with the tablers following suit.

Almost at the end of another year but MERT30 does not want to stop! A superb family fun time was organised @MCC club where Teams met for a game of Bingo followed by lunch & beer. Burp!!FE

May&Jun 2014 MMRT42IPL fever was at its peak when Tr. Amrith Jr. hosted a boys only evening at his home. We had visitors from Table 39 to invite for their bowling tournament. The food spread was amazing. Mango Soufflé and Aamras was loved and enjoyed by all. CSK winning the game was an icing on the cake. It was a very chilled out evening and everyone had a good time together.

MCRT94Dinner meet hosted on 14th June ‘14 by Tr.Madan @ J’52 with a Theme of ”High Heels & High Spirits” which turned out to be a truly rocking party. Area Chairman Tr.Hari Balaji of MMRT 42 demonstrated the 94ers how to Do More.

The family potluck dinners were back and 94 was split in 5 groups where venue hosts and guests had great fun and bonding, kids also having a jolly good time bonding.

Following the Bowling Intertable event, Tablers, Circlers and Twinklers ended up @ Hard Rock Café for a fellowship for a long Lunch and longer bill to pay.

The World 94 meet was held in South Africa and these guys from 94 never miss this meet come what may. Dressed in a Swami attire or be it in a Animal Kingdom attire, these guys did leave their mark in Africa.

MART100Bday Fellowships were still on @ 100 as they celebrated Birthdays of Tr.Amit Shah & T.Vipul. Tr.Amit Shah attended the World 100 meet as well.

May&Jun 2014 PRRT104Tr.Deepak & Tr.Joseph hosted their social at Inn Pondiville on 25th May’14. This was followed by a poker night. Charter day celebrations and fellowship at Mahabalipuram - Moonrakers were the may more fellowships the Pondy Paiiyas were upto in the last two months of the tabling year.

MSRT123With a whopping 20 fellwships in 61 days, MSRT123 & MSLC63 continue to DO MORE and never stop. Be it the Single Malts @ Tr.Venki’s residence, to Dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, to Ice Cream at Sandys, Amadora & Cream & Fudge, these guys never stop partying and ofcourse eating.

The mega social of MSRT123 at GRT Temple bay resorts was an overnight stay for all the Tablers, Circlers & Twinklers where all partied till they dropped. Sadly the party had to come to an end and all had to get back home on Sunday evening, thanks to the upcoming Monday fever.

MHRT124Boys night & Family Dinner at MCC with prospects Prem and Vineet were the socials all looked forward to at 124. Tr. Rajiv Maher visited Singapore and met with Chairman Vishal Dhavan from Singapore Round Table 2.

3.FELLOWSHIP LUNCH WITH FAMILY AT DAIROSOn 1ST May, being a holiday all spicers decided to meet with their family for lunch at Dario's Restaurant, Alwarpet. More than 20 heads including ladies and kids attended and relished the lunch, and as we planned our meeting as well special invitee, Incoming national Project convenor Tr. Rajat Bohra , from Jaipur (JPRT 171) and few fellow tablers from MSRT 123 and Tr.10 also joined and enjoyed the lunch with us.

May&Jun 2014 MSRT159On 1st June’14 all Spicers decided to meet up at Down Under, Egmore and have some bowling practice and get ready for the Inter table bowling competition organised by MSRT39. Such was the enthusiasm from tablers, circles and twinklers that MSRT159 registered two teams in the competition.

On 6th June’14 HT.Deepak and Jaya Tatia hosted a DJ Party at their new residence, special attraction was DJ Brajesh, from Bali. Such was the enthusiam that people where falling and drolling all over thanks to the liquor overflow and after long time 159 saw Incoming Area Chairman Tr.Shriram unwind and roll all over.

PHRT167Social meets have always been fun filled with active participation of Circlers and Twinklers. Tr.Mukkesh & HT.Harsh hosted a wonderful fellowship at Ocean Spray. A social hosted by the table at Anandha Inn was yet another rocking event.

Tr.Sandeep from Hubli Knights Round Table 178 visited Pondicherry. PHRT 167 Tablers had a fun filled fellowship and made sure Tr.Sandeep got a taste of Pondi’s cherry juice - alcohol afterall.
