TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Duties cover inspection at all phases of construction, equipment installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and operations as they relate to E&I discipline.

2. Supervise and coordinate all the shutdown activities engaged in both Electrical and Instrument removal & installation and ensures compliance with overall quality, safety, and environmental standards.

3. Ensure the successful inspection and completion of the Hazardous Area (EX/EEHA) electrical and instrumentation equipment from stages selection, preservation, installation and mechanical completion inspection in accordance to IEC-60079-14 and IEC-60079-17.

4. EX equipment data collection and inventory build (EX/EEHA register) to hold full technical and maintenance data on all EX equipment which fully reflect the actual condition and whereabouts of all installed EX equipment and generate an EX/EEHA Dossier.

5. Responsible for completing the discipline scope safely and meeting all quality requirements as required by applicable codes, specifications, and standards (ABS, DNV, LR, IEC, NEC, API or Clients own Standard).

6. Establish close communication and teamwork with other disciplines to endure overall successful completion. Coordinate with the preservation/maintenance supervisor to ensure proper protection of electrical and controls equipment. Closely work together with E & I construction personnel and Vendor representatives on all matters related to platform control system.

7. ATEX Certification verification according to IEC Standard. Suggest solution to solve problem.

8. Carry out inspection of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with project

specifications and standards.

9. Frequently visit and liaise with Contractor personnel on site to keep the QA/QC manager informed with all on going and forecasted activities related to the work.

10. Participate in walk downs of completed electrical and instrumentation system for

punch-out and approval of “Red Lined” as built drawings of installation.

11. Inspection for the Installation of Fire & Gas System in the Field such as Push Button, Horn & Beacon and Fire Detection System. Installation Inspection of CCTV, PAGA system.


12. Commissioning of transformers, generators and Grande Equipment’s. Carry-out

Electrical functional test such as; Variable Speed Control Panel, LV Circuit Breaker/ Starter, HV Circuit Breaker and Starter, Neutral Earth Resistor.

13. Commissioning of Control Panel, LV Distribution Board, HV Switchboard, LV

Switchboard/ MCC, Group starter panels (GSP), UPS/Charges/Inverter, Battery, Battery Discharge Test, Heater and Miscellaneous Unit.

14. Motors : Work up to 11 KV, 12000 HP, covering Earth Loop Impedance Test, PI Test,

Insulation Resistance Test, Fault Rectification and general maintenance like cleaning, check the glanding and check tightness of terminal connections, corrective action handled if any abnormalities noticed.

15. Switch Gears: Handle LT & HT Switch Gears ranging from 440V, 3.3KV, 6.6KV, 11KV,

33KV, 66KV, 110KV SF6 Circuit Breakers, Vacuum and Air Circuit Breakers, Isolators, Bus Ties and Bus Duct System covering examinations, general maintenance including Contact Resistance Test, Insulation Test, Service Checks and Fault Investigation.

16. Inspection and witnessing of all electrical equipment installations like switchgears transformer, motor earthling lighting and etc. LV, HV. Witnessing of motor solo run test and monitoring the line current bearing temperature vibration rotation and functional test of control from MCC local and remote .Execution of Heat Tracing System, HVAC System.

17. Lead group technician for loop checking, loop acceptance for field junction box

Inspection of Fire & Gas system. Instrument installation check-up if it is complete and as the material specification follow as of drawing and different kinds fields Instrument.

18. Work with HSE Manager and/or HSE personnel to ensure all electrical and

instrumentation Installation/Operations are carried out in a safe manner. Ensure PPE requirements are strictly enforced. Be an active participant in the safety program and achieving safety goals.
