You’ve been selected for a reality TV show: you and your team are going on an expedition but you don’t know

where!! Choose 5 objects (and only 5!) you will take with you and that you think are absolutely necessary to

survive anywhere.

For each object you must justify your choice: use the following prompts (= amorces de phrases):

- With a/an + N we + can + BV … / If we have a/an + N , we can + BV …

- The most useful object is… because…

- You can’t survive unless you have …

- We should take a/an + N in case+ S +V (= au cas où…)

- A/an + N can come in handy (= can be useful) / can save your life if…

- We should take a/an + N so that we + V … (= objective)

- A/an can be useful to + BV / in order (not) to + BV / so as (not) to + BV (= objective)

You’ve been selected for a reality TV show: you and your team are going on an expedition but you don’t know

where!! Choose 5 objects (and only 5!) you will take with you and that you think are absolutely necessary to

survive anywhere.

Possible situations (cf. trailer)

Cold / hot weather

Desert island

Mountain

Amazon rainforest

No food

Poisonous snakes, jelly fish, etc.

Wild animals (lions, bears, etc)

You’re lost

Etc

With a swiss knife, you can do a lot of things: you can open canned food if there is a can/ tin opener or a bottle

if it is equipped with a bottle opener. You can also cut a piece of rope.

The most useful object is the water bottle because you can’t survive more than a few days if you have no water.

You cannot survive unless you have water.

We should take matches or a lighter so that we can make a fire and cook food or scare wild animals ( like lions

or bears) so they don’t attack us.

We should take warm clothes and a survival blanket. It can come in handy even if we go to the desert so that we

do not freeze to death at night.

A compass can come in handy (more than a map) in case we get lost: it can help us to find our way / our

bearings / the right direction.

We should take a compass so as not to get lost / so that we don’t get lost.

A first aid kit can be useful in case we get bitten by a poisonous snake / in case we get hurt.

We should take a first aid kit to nurse wounds / injuries = so that we have plasters, bandages and pain killers/

drugs

= in case we are injured/ wounded.
