TRANSCRIPT
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN B2B AND B2C ECOMMERCE PLATFORMS
Introduction
Before starting any E-commerce platform , a retailer needs to decide the type of platform based on the customers they would be catering to i.e. if it is going to be another business (B2B)or if it is going to be the end customer(B2C). Let us check out some of the differences to help give a clearer understanding.
Scope
B2C ecommerce is generally on a much larger scale and higher volume than B2B as they cater to other businesses.
CustomersB2B eCommerce is generally focused on their existing client database rather than new customers. While B2C are very aggressive in their marketing strategies to drive new visitors.
Design ConceptsB2C eCommerce websites cannot compromise on the design concepts of their website. Customers want a beautiful and user-friendly site. B2B eCommerce, on the other hand, can get away with a slightly less "pretty" interface as long as it is still functional and user-friendly.
CostB2C-oriented platforms tend to cost considerably more than B2B platforms because of the additional functionality used to track thousands of individual buyers.
ConclusionB2B and B2C are totally two different spheres of E-commerce platforms, which are adapting many aspects from each other. In the end it is the customer who make these platforms different with their practicality and relations.
