Mission Statement

• The mission of ECAE is to prepare high quality teachers and educational leaders for the Abu Dhabi Emirate and across the UAE through research based, responsive professional training

• The vision of ECAE is to be an institute of distinction for teacher education in the Emirates within three years, across the Middle East within five years and globally 8-10 years.

Vision Statement

• To provide high quality professional development opportunities and training to public school teachers and administrators working in clusters located outside of the Abu Dhabi Metropolitan area.

Purpose

• In order to maintain that high academic and professional standards demanded by ECAE’s mission and vision, distance education courses and programs offered by ECAE will be developed in accordance with 6 Guiding Principles.

• Distance education courses must maintain the same high level of quality as any of its traditional face-t-face counterparts.

• Distance education students must have the same level of support services such as advising, tutoring, access to libraries and technical assistance as do students in traditional face-to-face courses.

• Distance education students must achieve similar levels of success in online courses as do students in traditional face-to-face courses.

• Distance education students must have equal opportunities to Interact with each other, with faculty and with course content as do students in traditional face-to-face courses.

• Distance education students must have the same rights to privacy, confidentiality, prompt feedback, fair assessment and addressing of grievances as do students in traditional face-to-face courses.

• Both students and instructors in distance education courses must have all of the technical skills and access to appropriate technology that is required to work effectively within their courses.
