The Wentworth point Discovery Centre has 3 different aspects of sustainable design.

Solar panels are an energy efficient, eco friendly, natural way to create electricity for your home appliances. Using them at the Discovery Centre can power the minimal lighting that there is, the appliance demonstrations and anything that needs electricity. Plus even though purchasing the solar panels can be expensive but when it comes to paying the bill it turns out to be very affordable.

The installation of glass as many surfaces for a building has many benefits but the main ideas for the discovery are reduce electrical lighting and heating and also easily gives the building a modernized finish. The windows are perfect for the lighting as we don’t need to waste money on buying lights as the sun can light the centre during day and it will closed at night.

Trees are natures best friend. Planting them around the centre makes it look more eco friendly and overall just look attractive. But additionally, trees produce oxygen, absorb C02, create natural shade, clear the air and combat the greenhouse effect. Planting the trees can stimulate the people of Wentworth point to do the same and overall fabricate a community blossoming of nature.

WATER TANKS – over the whole of Wentworth point there are many water tanks placed in houses, public buildings etc. Water tanks collect and recycle the rainwater and then use it to water gardens, toilet flushing, laundry use, car washing and more. BUILDING MATERIALS – during the design process we decided the choose recycled and eco friendly materials to build the public building for example the community centre. Also the recycled building materials were used on majority of the apartments.
