Top features of Adobe Story Plus

Adobe Creative CloudAdobe Story Plus is a Creative Cloud service. Included with a full Creative Cloud membership, Story Plus makes preproduction vastly more efficient by integrating screenwriting and production management tools and making them available to everyone on your project. You can also purchase a stand-alone subscription to Story Plus—or access the core online writing tools through Adobe Story Free.

Write together or on your ownWork the way you want to in Adobe Story Plus: in splendid isolation offline or collaboratively with writing partners and production teams. Share projects safely by setting access levels for individual team members, determining who can read, comment on, or modify content, including scripts, schedules, and reports. Easily track changes, manage production revisions, and compare older drafts. Work online or offline; lock documents when you take them offline to prevent accidental changes by co-authors.

Use templates to get started faster Work with templates that offer professional, industry-standard formatting for episodic dramas and feature films, or use audio/video and multicolumn templates for other types of projects. Modify the appearance and behavior of templates to tailor them to your particular production’s needs—and save them for other projects. Layouts, dialogue, and page breaks update as you type, and auto-completion tools allow you to quickly add frequently used character names, dialogue, and transitions.

Create schedules from your scriptsOptimize your shoot with schedules generated from scripts. Each scene—or location within a scene, if you’re shooting multi-location scenes such as a phone call—is represented as a strip, which you can sort and rearrange to make each day of a shoot as efficient as possible. Easily add days, meal breaks, company moves, and more to customize your schedule. If you’re shooting several scripts together, such as a block of episodes for TV, create a common schedule from multiple scripts.

Assign individual access levels for different members of your writing team.

Use Story Plus to generate detailed production schedules right from the script. Then add or modify details as required.

Adobe workflow integrationMove your script seamlessly into post-production. Log in to the new Adobe Story panel in Adobe Prelude or Adobe Premiere® Pro where you can view your scripts and link the associated metadata with your clips. Connect your media to metadata in your script using Speech Analysis that makes your footage searchable—you can find specific spots in a clip just by typing keywords.

Plan your camera shotsAdd camera shots to your script as you plan your production, and then use your schedule to generate scripts with scenes in shooting order and camera card reports that detail what shots are required for each camera shooting each scene. In your scripts, choose whether to display camera shots or not, whether camera tops and tails are included (so you can see the previous and next shots at the top and bottom of each page), from and to info for each scene, and more.

Stay on top of changing schedulesKeep your schedule up to date by re-syncing it with the screenplay as you evolve and refine your story. Choose which properties to update to maintain precise control—for example, sync changes to characters in a scene or the scene’s location, but prevent other properties such as number of pages from being updated. Compare schedules to identify potential talent or location conflicts.

Use flexible tools for breaking down a scriptUse your script to power production planning with easy and flexible tagging of production elements such as props, wardrobe, lighting, and sound effects. Create custom Tag Lists to use on your production so you can track anything you like, from product placement and regulatory compliance notes for legal review to whether model releases have been secured for interviewees. Generate reports that include all tags added to each scene in your script, along with other information. Use Auto-tagging to quickly add tags to a script. Note: auto-tagging is available only for English.

Full set of production reports Use your scripts and schedules to generate a full set of production reports that help keep everyone on the same page. Create shooting order scripts automatically, and generate a wide variety of reports. For example, the Shooting Schedule report provides an easy-to-read summary of what’s in store for the day’s shoot, the Bible report summarizes key information about each scene, and the Colorist report summarizes time of day, lighting, and location information that ensure visual continuity.

Keep your projects organizedSet up projects to keep multiple related documents—scripts, character bios, schedules, prop lists, reports, etc.—organized, and use categories to organize related projects. Access the contents of your projects, including links to relevant web pages, in the Projects view. Archive completed projects to keep clutter down, and create FTP backups for added peace of mind.
