Start/End Times

• Attendance:

– School starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 4:05 p.m.

– If absent please bring a note from parent or doctor to the attendance office.

– Parents must sign students out when picking up for a doctors appointment. Parents will have to show a valid picture ID in the main office. ONLY PEOPLE LISTED ON YOUR BLUE CARD CAN PICK YOU UP FROM SCHOOL.

Attendance• We want you here at school!

• Your presence in class is very important. Be here and be on time!• If you are leaving school early for a valid reason, you must check out at

the attendance office first, with a note, to obtain a blue slip• If you are returning to school from an appointment or other valid

reason, you must check in at the attendance office first. You will present the documentation to verify your reason and you will be given a blue slip. This blue slip will admit you to class.

• 90% Rule• After 9 Unexcused or Excused (with a parent note) absences, students

will receive a No-Credit unless they attend Saturday School.• You are considered absent after the first six minutes of class have

elapsed.• Sign up for Saturday School in the AP Office by noon on the Thursday

prior to the Saturday you will attend. The cost is $8 paid in cash at the time of sign up.

• You will not be eligible for a TEA form (required to get your Driver’s License) if you have an NC for the prior semester.

Cafeteria Info.

• No Charging/No Exceptions – You must have money for all purchases.

• Meal Costs: Breakfast – $1.00Lunch – $2.30

• You must be in the room before the bell rings

• If you are not in the room when the tardy bell rings, you will be swept and not be permitted to enter your classroom.

Tardy Sweeps

• Tardiness and Passing Period Procedures

• Proceed to class promptly, when the first bell rings.

• If you arrive to class after the bell, you must go with the staff member who is engaged in the “positive sweep”.

• After your tardy is processed, a staff member will escort you to your classroom.

Non-Social Lunch

Dress Code• Modest dress – no tank tops, strapless, or spaghetti straps.

• Hair color must be a natural color – no mo hawks, reverse mo hawks etc.

• Skirts or shorts should be of modest length. No visible undergarments are permitted.

• No Sagging, chains, spiked collars or bracelets.

• No double meanings or alcohol/drug advertisements or sexual references are allowed.

• Piercing in the ears only.

• No holes in your jeans, shorts or skirts and no excessively oversized clothes.

HATS AND HEAD COVERINGS

• ALL HATS AND HEAD COVERINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON CAMPUS.

• ANY HAT OR HEAD COVERING VISIBLE IS SUBJECT TO CONFISCATION.

Administrative Discretion

• Administration has the final call on dress code.

• If a student’s dress becomes distracting to others they will be asked to change.

• Dress code violations will be directed to change. Should you have no change of clothing, you will be placed in ISS.

• Students will be allowed to call home for a change of clothes.

Cell Phones• During school hours, cell phones may be used at

anytime except during class and emergency drills. Phones may be used during class for academic purposes if authorized by a teacher.

• Use of cell phones in locker rooms, restrooms or any other area where personal privacy is an expectation is strictly prohibited.

• Consequences for Violations of the cell phone policy:

Cell phone is confiscated and a face to face conference with student, parent/guardian is held. Student is given disciplinary consequences. Cell phone is returned to parent/guardian.

• Infractions involving serious violations including, but not limited to, an invasion of privacy, inappropriate text messaging, “sexting”, or activities causing any school disruption will result in a disciplinary action including suspension and/or alternative placement, as well as, the loss of cell phone privileges.
