National Annex NA (informative)Amendments to DIN EN 1593:1997-08, withdrawn in August 2002 (these amendments had already been incor-porated into DIN EN 1563:2003-02):
a) In note 1 to table 3, the reference to guideline values specied in Annex D have been dropped.b) In subclause 8.3.2, paragraphs 3 and 4, the requirements for the thickness of the sand mould have been revised.c) Figures 1 and 2 have been completed (missing hatching included).d) The table to gure 6 has been revised.
As compared to DIN EN 1563, August 2002 edition, some corrections have been made to gure 6.Amendments to DIN 1693-1:1973-10 and DIN 1693-2:1977-10, withdrawn in August 1977 (these amendments had already been incorporated into DIN EN 1563:1997-98):
a) Material symbols and numbers have been changed (see table).b) 23 new grades have been introduced (see table).
Former grades GGG-35.3 and GGG-40.3 have each been subdivided into three further grades in order to more precisely describe their impact behaviour at room temperature, and to allow the former grades to be replaced without impact testing, in the case of GGG-40.3 with expanded elongation. Grades EN-GJS-450-10 and EN-GJS-450-10U are now included as (cost-effective) alternatives to former grades GGG-40 and GGG-50. These grades are primarily used in centrifugal casting. Grades EN-GJS-800-2U (for thick-walled castings), EN-GJS-900-2 and EN-GJS-900-2U have been introduced on the basis of prior experience.
c) Additional forms of separately cast samples have been introduced (option 1, types I, IIa, III and IV, and option 3).d) Impact testing shall now be on Charpy-notched test pieces instead of DVM test pieces.e) Material classication as a function of hardness has been introduced.f) Further information on mechanical and physical properties has been included.
