Digital Isle of Man Executive Agency Chief Executive

Department for Enterprise We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Agency Chief Executive, with a deep knowledge of the

Island’s digital economy, to become a vital part of an exciting public-private partnership approach to economic

development.

As a talented leader, you will be at the forefront of promoting the Digital Isle of Man Executive Agency’s

purpose “to develop and implement a strategy which will support sustainable economic growth

and establish the Isle of Man as a centre of international excellence for the digital economy.”

You will work closely with the Agency’s Chair and board members, to ensure that Digital Isle of Man leverages

private sector expertise and knowledge, creating a partnership approach to product development, policy input

and promotion.

Resource Management - Leading a team of talented and committed professionals and

managing external, professional support; ensuring that the Agency’s budget is well-managed

and underpinned by value for money, return on investment and sound financial and

corporate governance;

Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agency;

Other duties as per the job description, including taking an active role in Departmental,

Governmental and external stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities

Leadership – You will support the Agency’s Chair and board members in the development of the

Agency’s strategic and operating plans; take a lead role in building excellent working relationships with

all companies on the Island within the digital sector and managing key stakeholder relationships;

encouraging investment in the Island by playing a visible and prominent role in the promotion of the

Isle of Man as a vibrant, successful and well regulated digital economic sector;

Operations - Effectively deploy the Agency’s strategic and operating plans; bring forward viable

business cases and propositions based on the Board’s agreed priorities; work closely with industry

bodies and committees, visiting digital-driven businesses to ascertain needs, challenges and

potential economic development opportunities; working with the Board to develop and deploy a

marketing plan to promote the Island’s digital economic community and ensure its growth and

sustainability;

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Educated to degree level or with relevant professional qualifications

An experienced and accomplished leader with 3 years’ experience as a Chief Executive, executive board

member or senior partner;

A strategic focus with the ability to identify and take action to maximise economic development

opportunities;

Experience of delivering high profile presentations conveying industry issues and trends to a range of

audiences;

Experience of organising and leading industry sector meetings and representing the organisation/industry

at a senior level;

Experience of commissioning research to assess the costs, benefits and viability of capital projects;

An excellent communicator and networker, with strong influencing, negotiating and conciliation skills.

The Remuneration Package

This is a four year limited term, non-pensionable appointment providing a competitive salary and

25 days’ paid leave (plus statutory holidays)
