Diary of a Bored Housewife is a

weekly feature on Diamond Woman Bank Nigeria portal. It is a peek into the ordinary day in the extraordinary lives of Nigerian Woman. It is a work of fiction that takes you through the life of a Nigerian housewife and her dreams, her unfulfilled desires and her dilemmas.

Diamond Woman

We know her as the narrator who takes us through her life, up, close and personal. Angie shares everything with us and treats us like confidante. It is about the various tests a Nigerian Woman is put to. The troubles, turbulences and the challenges that married woman in a Nigerian household faces.

Being a mother she shares her doubts and problems of parenting. She introduces us to her husband TK and her daughter Oladunni. She even opens her heart to us about her old flame Emeka, her first love whom she could not marry and nor could forget.

Diamond Woman Bank uses a very unique and innovative approach to reach out its target audience. Woman from various Nigerian households and economic diversities can relate with her personal predicament. Though Anjola comes from a very wealthy illustrious family, her life is twisted.

Time and again Diamond Woman Bank Nigeria tries to portray the importance of a woman’s financial security pre or post marriage. They stress on the importance of it irrespective of marital statuses. Anjola’s troublesome marriage and her submission to the Duchess’ rules and signing of Pre-nup shows how she fell into the trap. She realsies in the recent episode.

“No wonder Ayo-Kensington wives were forbidden to work! It wasn’t a status thing and it wasn’t a gift to the wives it was a trap to ensure you had to put up with whatever the marriage presented you.”

• This unique work of fiction is a wonderful venture by Diamond Woman Bank Nigeria to awaken the spirits of woman in Nigeria. It is an interesting way of educating woman and also engaging its clients.
